"It's me." Stephanie sounded a bit loopy from pain medication and the reception was probably less than perfect from the fact that another girl was holding a phone to her face. She'd have used speakerphone, but her voice wasn't really strong enough to do that.

Also, she wasn't sure if Dr. McCoy would put a kibosh on her phoning if he saw her. It was all being done a little serreptiously.
