He cries out when he drops, but he doesn't blubber, strangely enough. He fights to stay on his knees, steady himself while he reaches for a smaller blade on his body with his other hand. He knows, and he's sure that Alistaire knows that he can't do much in the way of fighting with it.

"Very clever boy. At least I had the guts to face your grandfather face to face." Shinobi looked at him, the certainty of death washing away much of his cowardice, his miserable failure. He even looked sober, and Shinobi Shaw hadn't been sober for years, not completely.

He's not sure if he can do it ... but he's going to damn well try. Hard and swift as he can, the blade flashes towards his own belly. All the damned boy can do now is finish him off.
