If Kayla were privy to Brianna's thoughts, she'd assure her that many people had, it just was that she hadn't noticed them. Of course people ahd looked at her like that before. She was gorgeous.
Ugh, and that English accent. That was one thing that Kayla did not have, a sexy accent. Her accent was a small thing that people frequently missed, except for the occasional "eh". And she resolved that she'd open the next door for Brianna.
"Me too. School's been a blur." She laughed. "It's a good thing we don't have a test tomorrow or anything." Because she doubted she was going to sleep much tonight. Too much excitement. "We don't even have morning training, which is kind of unexpectedly awesome."
They stepped out into the evening air, still warm, but more comfortable than the heat of the afternoon. It'd been a long winter back in Manitoba, and she was glad to be here, where the green was properly out. And with Brianna, right now.
She suddenly stopped for a moment and took Brianna's hand. Gently, gently, because if she squeezed too hard, that would not be good.
"Brianna. Over by the trees."
There was a mother deer and a fawn. Though that'd been the reason she'd taken Brianna's hand, to make sure she knew without speaking too loudly and scaring the animals away, it ... it felt natural. She had no intentions of letting go anytime soon.
