Kayla's hand curled around Brianna's reassuringly as she watched Coffeeshop Bob tear a new one out of the patrons. "Yeah, Coffeeshop Bob is awesome. His husband's pretty cool too." She laughed. "That's why he's really not fond of the 'deviant' talk."

But leaving was a good idea. She didn't really want to create any problems for a man who'd, all things considered, been rather kind to hire her, despite knowing she came from the mutant school.
