Trying to vent

It had been, and continued to be, trying times for Rose Logan. At least the media circus had largely dissipated, but the underage Logan children were definitely under a fair amount of scrutiny from the DCFS people. Which made it a heck of a lot harder to sneak out for her beer and smokes.

And there was the added... whatever it was that was going on with her life right now. Whatever it meant that she didn't smell like her brothers and sister or Pops. She still hadn't figured out how to talk to Misha or Pops about it. Really needed to. Needed to talk to someone. And not any of the docs either, 'cause they'd just point her to Pops.

Dang it. Why'd life have to go and get all flippin' complicated?

So for now, she'd been working her way through a Danger Room exercise. Simulated Tokyo neighborhood, Hand ninjas. Perfect aggression therapy. So long as she kept just enough self-control not to max out on red hot rage.

The program terminated when the last ninja was down. Rose was healing from a variety of sword slices, sai stabs, and other cuts. Holographic blood faded from her claws. She was breathing hard, but that was slowing.

Deep breaths, in and out. Keep that icy calm cold center.

Bobbi's watching her roommate from the control room, because the program... Just a tad over her skill level when she has time to focus. With a friend in there... Yeah, not a good idea, even if said friend is a Logan. She's content watching and sketching in her book.

Eventually, Rose's breathing slowed, and she reigned in whatever remained of her rage. It'd probably be back.

"So... what's my score?"

"Thirty over your last one." Bobbi reported after glancing over. "Which is still a lot better than any of my scores... I'm still having some trouble with freezing the hostage too." Hey there was a reason when she soloed she made sure no one else was in the room.

"I should have another awesome drawing of you done before dinner too. Unless you want me to color it. That'll have to wait until I can get some more colored pencils."

"Dang," Rose said, after listening to the numbers. "Still slow."

The other pieces sunk in, momentarily lifting just a little of her funk. "Color's fine," she said. "If ya want to."

"Still better than I'd do."

Bobbi nodded. "I'll work on coloring it tonight then, I have some of the colors I'll need. Maybe I should ink it first. It's been a while since I've done any."

"Eh... you'll get there, Feathers. Yer young still."

Bobbi grimaced, that was one nickname she didn't care for. "Want me to reset the program again? Or you good now?"

Rose sucked in a breath, and then finally shook her head. "Only so many ninjas ya can kill in a day before it gets borin'," she said.

"I need a a snack. Gimme ten ta shower, and I'll fix us somethin'."

"I'll help, well in the kitchen."

Bobbi grinned as she started tucking her sketchbook and pencils back into the small messenger bag she had carried with her.

"Want to drop these off in the room first, last time we cooked I got something all over the cover of my book. Not sure if it was the soy sauce, or brown gravy... Because oops small food fight there but hey at least it had been kept small.

Rose managed to beat Bobbi to the kitchen, and was already rummaging in the fridge when she came in. Her nose and hearing alerted her to her roommate's presence.

"Hey, Feathers. Beat ya here."

"Well, bumped my desk, had to pick up my text books." She pouted rather cutely. "So what are we gonna make?" She pulled a stool over so she could help.

"Or is it one of those science lab snacks?" Okay so she might have a little too much fun with Japanese candy lately.

Rose pulled herself out of the fridge, with some veggies, bacon, a carton of eggs, and several different varieties of lunch meat.

"Get the bread out fer me, will ya?"

Bobbi nodded bouncing over to get the bread. "You want white or wheat?" She had to ask because sometimes Bobbi was in the mood for one or the other.

"Wheat," Rose said. "None of that processed crap. All natural."

"I grew up on the processed stuff!" Bobbi gave a mock pout as the grabbed the bread Rose wanted, opening the bag to steal a slice munching on it on the way over to her roommate. "It's not all that bad, though I'd stay away from pre-made jello... Unless it's from a deli," Hey what can she say she likes sweets with lunch when they go into town.

"And what're you, like, twenty-five pounds and built like a twig?" Rose teased.

She got a frying pan down and started the bacon frying while she assembled some of the other ingredients.

"I don't know you and Kayla keep making me snack, I'll be 80 pounds by the end of the month. And I get much heavier I won't be able to use my wings." She pouted. And it wasn't really her fault she was so skinny, she was always snacking, kid could eat a dozen eggs in one sitting, and have the calories burned off in an hour.

Rose quickly began assembling a pair of sandwiches. Bread, ham, mustard, turkey, mayo, lettuce, tomato, beef, mustard, salami, more mustard, more lettuce, more tomato, fried egg, bacon, bread.

"Ta-flippin'-da."

Bobbi watched impressed. "And here my parents would freak at the thought of me even touching that." She giggled at the comment though.

Going to the fridge she grabbed two cokes, one for both of them.

"Hey, protein's good for you," Rose said. "And these are all quality meats."

"I'm not complaining, it looks better than the veggie burgers she used to feed me." She'd just take it easy like she always did, if she didn't eat fast she wouldn't get sick, and she's been getting better about it so it's not an issue.

"It looks a little weird with the egg though." She grinned at Rose. "Like I should use a fork."

"Nah, egg'll hold itself pretty good," Rose said. She deftly used a knife to slice both sandwiches into two halves, and pushed a plate in Bobbi's direction.

Bobbi nodded picking up one half of her sandwich before thinking better of it, using the knifr to quarter the whole sandwich. "Smaller hands."

Rose gave her a sideways glance. "Ya ain't that much smaller than me."

"So," She giggled, "Besides if I ate it like that there'd be a mess."

As she spoke some of the tomato escaped the sandwich making her yelp trying to catch the run away fruit.
