As it happened, fortuitously enough, the Purifier was receiving urgent communications from the squadron leader, allowing Sage a brief moment to make her escape, should she choose to take it. Fortunately, the Purifiers had spread out somewhat as the nature of the mission shifted slightly to finding any valuable survivors.
