That's not what I meant by "to go". (Remi and others as requested.)
It had started with the fourth consecutive evening of not getting more than three hours of sleep. Insomnia and low need for sleep wasn't uncommon in the Stark bloodline, but being pregnant was a game-changer. Nearly the end of her gestation Alexa needed far more sleep than she ever had in her life, but the combination of her fast-working brain and a fast-moving baby conspired to keep her awake. And cranky: a full-on stomping temper-tantrum had been had twice before noon because she was so sleepy but couldn't sleep. Alexa didn't exactly consider it admitting defeat, but she did give in and decide to head down the block to the neighborhood Starbucks for an octo-shot Pumpkin Spice Latte, cup of whip on the side. It technically wasn't on the menu, but Alexa always brought her own cup, a space-dimensionally enhanced contraption that allowed her to appear to be carrying a normal venti cup with about a sixty-four ounce actual capacity. The baristas never seemed to mind. Even throughout her pregnancy Alexa was, much to Remi's chagrin, a regular at the store.
Which is why the barista knew exactly who to call when four weird-looking dudes dressed like extras in a low-budget Hawaiian horror movie blinked into existence, grabbed the redhead's wrists, and then blinked out again leaving behind the freshly-made PSL and the fairly unmistakable growl-hum of alien spacecraft in their wake. In stunned bystander speak? "Um, King Fishdude? Tiki alien guys stole your girlfriend. Or maybe it was that guy from Ancient Aliens. You wanna come get her latte?"

"I got you," he assured before trying to sweep her into his arms and fly away. They had a little breathing room from him knocking the aliens away and Alexa battering and scaring them.

Alex clutched to him for dear life, trying to avoid the blisters on his skin.
"I'm kind of heavy, I know. Okay, a lot heavy."
no subject
"You're not heavy. You're carried by an Atlantean while carrying an Atlantean yourself. That makes you strong... and mine." Eyes on the destination, Remi.

He blinked at the question. "When you ask for absolute fidelity and I give it freely, there's a bit of mutual claim there. Unless you don't..."
He trailed off and closed his eyes for a moment. He opened those deep blues again and looked at her. "I flew through outer space, dragged my team with me, faced fiery aliens, and very possibly pissed off your father to come get you. Because I'm not letting the woman I love get sacrificed to some weird caffeine god. I thought the feeling was mutual?" She did drop the l-bomb first. Though he really wasn't aware he had just dropped it himself because the question was foremost in his mind.
Maybe she had reconsidered...? He wasn't sure. Maybe he should go out and punch some aliens.

"The woman you...Remi, say that again?"

Remi blinked at being told to repeat something. He blinked again when he realized what he said. He licked his lips.
"I'm not letting the woman I l-love get sacrificed?" He tried not to wince about stumbling over it. He had admitted it. It was the truth. He stood by it.

Alexa grinned.
"I think that means I win." Trying to navigate the hurdle that is her rather round belly, Alexa leans in and gives Remi a kiss.

He gave her a little half-grin as he rubbed the back of his neck. Though he stopped quick when it pulled on one of his burns.
He did raise an eyebrow at her declaring herself the winner. He was going to ask of what but decided the kiss was a more important use of his lips.

He smiled a bit. "There was less crotch kicking this abduction, but I wouldn't want to repeat it either."
His hand went gently against her belly. "So, a little important but... still need to pee? I'm not quite ready to catch our child here."

"Speaking of, I saved your Pumpkin Spice Latte from the Starbucks. If this turned you off coffee, I'll have to figure out what to tell the scientists keeping it warm for you."
no subject
"I'm still a fan of coffee. I just probably won't want Kona for awhile."
no subject
"Good. I don't want to feel bad drinking my morning coffee in front of you." Guilt coffee never tasted good.
