Stephanie let out a breath. It wasn't what she wanted to hear, particularly, but at the same time, she understood it was probably important.

"Okay." She tried not to look disappointed as she snuffed out the candles and turned the lights on. It seemed sort of wrong to have a serious discussion with the romantic mood lighting.

She offered a small smile of her own that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"So ... what's on your mind?"
