Brooke had the good sense to look appalled at the thought that Rachel would even suggest such a thing. "I would never," she said, "do something like that in however many years you would like me to never do something like that." She pushed forward feelings of trust and confidence - not towards Rachel, specifically, but simply around Brooke herself. She also tried not to be disturbed by the little Phoenix emblem hovering over Rachel's eye.
