This was New York City. You didn't get far without coming across another hero or two. In this case, Roxie Danvers had been at said bank, rifling through the safe deposit box she shared with her mother, trying to find an old thunderbolt-shaped pendant made out of some material not made on Earth.
She wanted to wear it for the next time she saw Joe.
Of course, the only thing she found was trouble.
She and the teller that she was with turned around at the sound of shouting. It was the words that "THIS IS A STICK-UP!" That really got to Roxie, though.
Is there ever a time that a superhero walks into a bank, and the bank isn't robbed? she thought to herself as she concentrated on her clothing. Two halos of bright light circled around her body as her outfit gave way to her Warbird costume.
"Stay here," she said to the teller, giving him a reassuring smile.
Then, she dashed out into the lobby of the bank, her hands glowing with the promise of photonic energy.
