The thing with being nearly a head taller than most of the crowd, was that Alexis tended to notice when other people were on a level with her line of sight, which was how she ended up giving Jay a crooked smile and a nod that was both acknowledgement and almost a greeting from the other side of the crowd at the lemur exhibit.

At that point Bob -still on his harness- was draped over her shoulder like the world's saddest half-deflated water balloon, and since he wasn't moving, no one seemed to notice that he wasn't some sort of weird purse. Something that suited her just fine.
