He surfaced, looking at Topher, then Kayla, then back to Topher. He smiled at the two, feeling more at ease.

"Sorry. I just... I never had the bollocks to tell anyone such things, before." He gave out a relaxed sigh, letting go of the rope and concentrating so his powers would allow him to float in the water, without drowning. "There we go! Better than being in a silly life-jacket."

He chuckled. "But, aye. I meant every word of what I said... and we're all cool. Arctic cool!"
