science opening up the past...

Bobbi wasn't sure why she had been called to medical, she was feeling fine. Okay a little tired from her stunt with Brooke, but nothing she was worried about.

"Dr. McCoy? You wanted to see me?" She called once she was in the room. She stopped to look at something on the wall, figuring she should give the man a moment or two if he needed it. "It's not something bad about the blood tests you ran when I first got here is it?" Bobbi turned away from whatever was bubbling away on the table, careful not to touch it, looking around for the doctor.

"Given that they did raise you, I would say that puts a propriety claim on parentage, regardless of any other outcomes," Hank told her. Even if they were, apparently, robots.

"As for your real parents... I would prefer to use the term genetic material, in this case. Based upon the blood tests I've done, along with some other work, you would seem to be a DNA match for friends of mine, Robert Drake and Warren Worthington III, otherwise known as Iceman and Angel."

"Unfortunately, at this point, I'm not ready to speculate."

A white lie. He recognized some of the basic signs in some of her genetic markers, but it could come from any one of several sources.

"There is... more," he began again, after a moment.

"My other concern..." he said, "is that your DNA shows additional signs of tampering."

"Rest assured, I'm consulting with Professor Xaiver and another colleague of mine, Dr. MacTaggert, so that we can determine the best response."

He went on, "However, as near as I can tell, certain markers relating to aging in your DNA have been switched into higher gear. While you are, physically, a young teenager, you seem to be no more than four years old."

Hank placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. "It is... possible, that some of your memories may be implanted. Rachel or the Professor should be able to help determine that."

He looked her squarely in the eyes. "But know this. You are a member of our community now, and we will accept you and protect you, whatever comes your way."

Hank would hold the girl for as long as she needed.

"We will find you the answers you seek, rest assured."

"Bobbi," he told her, "if there is one thing my lifetime of hero-ing has taught me, it's that you are who you chose to be."

"Between the Professor and Rachel," Hank said, "we have two of the best telepaths on the planet available to us, and Mr. Ramsey is not without his own considerable decoding skills. We will find out."

"One of your "fathers," so to speak, once went through much the same trials and emerged from it. I have faith you will as well."

"I am certain you did not," Hank agreed. "Ms. Wyngarde is prone to overreactions. It runs in her family."
