It's never /just/ about football....

"...'Tis not right!" Danielle complains as she stalks a student sitting area, her radio to her ear. "'Tis not the way they're supposed to lose!"

"Soccer," she says. "And not exactly," she says to Chris. "They're not even in a game. They beat us in the last one....and now the news is saying they may be knocked out of the championships, and mayhap even the next season... because they didn' pay their taxes." Danielle is clearly distressed by this.

"Well, that's just flammin' stupid," Rose offered.

"Exactly! The Rangers -- not necessarily through any fault of the players themselves, but through a hundred years of tradition and the continuing attitude of many of their supporters -- represent the forces of insular bigtory and they must be chastened ... but on the field of bat-- football, not.... losing money. If they go away when their last match was a victory.... 'tis just not right."

Chris pats Danielle on the shoulder. "If it's anything remotely like American celebrities, they'll probably just get publicly shamed, but coast past it. They'll get served by the Celtics or someone. Would you settle for an English team?" A pause. "Snack?" She offers some jerky.

"I don't pay attention to soccer," Luna said, "But even I can say that isn't very fair."

Rose's preferred sports were, understandably, hockey and American football. Also boxing and MMA, even if the competitors were pansies. Basically anything with plenty of opportunity for violence. But she understood what was being said.

"Well, yeah. Guys like that, ya gotta wallop. Show 'em who's boss."

"Exactly!" She smiled. "Thanks, all of ye. Sorry to be moaning about it."
