As some of you might be aware, there is a mutant shelter on 11th street which provides much-needed help and services to mutants in New York City. Before I was fortunate enough to come here, I myself was often the beneficiary of their assistance. Given the tension between mutants and non-mutants, this shelter cannot rely on traditional means of funding or staffing and relies almost entirely on donations and volunteers from the mutant community.
There is almost always a serious need for material goods such as food and clothing, but also for volunteers to work with those who require the shelter, in all sorts of capacities. It's my intention to go to the shelter in the city every Sunday and assist as I can. I invite anyone who can to come join me, or to help a wonderful cause in any way they can. Even a few hours of your time, or ten dollars of your money, can make a real difference to people who desperately need help.
