Erin had been trying to get everything in order. School, being an Avenger, family duty, more training. It was a busy life the mutant lead. That was why she had to take the time to call her Mother when she had free time. She flops down on a ouch in one of the side rooms closest to the kitchen in the Avenger's HQ.

She was just about to call her mother using her phone when she was interrupted by an unexpected in coming call showing up on on the display.

"Yes. This is she."

Her face goes a funny shade of white. Any water in the immediate area goes perfectly still. She has to take a deep calming breath.

"Is she alive?"

Being prepped for surgery. She has a good chance to survive.

"I'll be there as soon as I can. I want the scene preserved.... I'm an Avenger, officer. I will be conducting myself as a professional. I will not react like an angry teenager despite the fact you just told me someone tried to shoot my Mother through the head!"

Erin lets out a shuddering breath of air. She is so angry right now. Anger will serve her better than shock. "Thank you, detective. I will be along shortly with... a teammate."

She hangs up. Then has to take a few deep measuring breaths of air before she pulls out her team communicator.

"Sammy. It's Erin. I need your help." Erin realizes in the back of her head she doesn't know Sammy that well. Why turn to her?

Because she needs an objective mind. And someone who knows guns obviously. "Maybe some of the others too. I don't know yet."
Bruce sat in the mission war room, bringing up various pieces of data on the computer, projecting holographic screens into the air.

"In prison... in prison...  last know crime... last known crime..."

He manipulated some more data, looking over countless records and pulling the files into sections.

Something... something definitely wasn't right, and a pattern was beginning to emerge.

"Okay," he said aloud.  "What're you trying to tell me...?"
Erin had a lot of things on her mind. The biggest one being the issue of how to get better with her gift. She wants to be the best Avenger she can be. No one on the team can really help her refine her abilities when it comes to be an aquakinetic.

The latest news actually helped. There was a school. Too bad she was recently graduated from the Rushmore academy. It would be easy to apply for her last year of high school. It is June, however, in a few weeks she will be eighteen. She is no longer a kid worrying about her grades.

She is a young adult. In September she will be going to college in the city. There has to be a way to work this out.

Erin made an appointment. Just to talk over her options. She wanted to be sure before she settled on anything. She arrives twenty minutes early. Traffic had been excellent today.

Erin adjusts her skirt as she exits her car then approaches the front door. She feels better already. She was glad she was doing this.

It will make everything easier on her.
Erin finally has something resembling a break. So she is messing around on her lap top. Just seeing what she can find on the internet. It is because she is bored out of her mind. Somehow she ended up on an Avenger's fan site.

She keeps reading. For a few minutes she is just amused by everything she finds.

Now she is making more and more horrified sounds. Something is obviously hurting her brain and she should stop what she is doing and step away from the laptop. But it's sort of like a car crash. She knows she shouldn't look but she can't quite stop herself.

Until it gets really weird. "What the hell."

And she shuts the top of her laptop. Yeah. No. Can't read that again. It's a little too weird.
New York City high society had been absolutely buzzing over this April's charity gala by a certain Mr. Tony Stark. It was seen as exclusive, or as exclusive as his 200 person guest list could be. Some invitations were a given, like Tony's daughter Alexa, whereas others came from what the party planners figured as the right people to make the party memorable or talked about.

The charity event was for the charitable arm of Stark Inc., Stark International. Despite being for charity, it was also seen as a good way for businesses to be seen and network.

The event was held at the Hudson in the Library and Private Park space. It would comfortably fit the people into its 2,600 Square Feet.
Erin has been having trouble for the past few days at school. It all has to do with that article from Loose Lips. If she could sue them for outing her as a mutant she would. There is a group of girls she has never exactly gotten along with who are taking advantage of the situation.

They are trying to throw her off her game. So far it's just little snide comments she can brush off but she can see the signs. This is turning into a war between rich bitches. Too bad she isn't much of a bitch.

She needs advice on how to deal with this. She wonders if Roxie has any words of wisdom. She doesn't come off as THAT kind of rich girl but she must know a thing or two.

With that she sends off a text.

Hi Roxie. It's Erin.

I need some advice on something I think you'd understand more than Bruce. Can I buy you coffee or early dinner?
The portal from Vincent's magic opened on one of the middle levels of the Norse universe. Snow crunched under boots and bare feet as the Avengers assembled in the realm of giants. The sharp, craggy land was as welcoming as an ice pick between the shoulder blades. But out there in the cold and blowing landscape was a young girl waiting to be rescued.
Tensions were running high, but that was par for the course, given everything that had just happened. The Avengers were back at Avengers Mansion, mugs of hot tea, hot cocoa, and mead being passed around as wounds and injuries were tended to and salves and painkillers were being administered by Night Nurse, who had presumably been called in by Jarvis.

Niklas Thorson of Asgard - currently better known as Nicky Blake of Midgard - snapped the cape off of his armor and leaned against the wall. He was silent, waiting for the planning to commence, of things that needed to happen next. It was something he would be left out of - Hela had succeeded in locking him out of Asgard for the forseeable future - but he was only too glad to stay here and help out with the planning, give the others whatever information they needed about his home...perhaps give them a note to send to his father, who he had not seen for awhile now.

Gratefully, he accepted a large, frothy mug of mead from Jarvis and took a long gulp.

Then, when everyone seemed as though they were ready, Nicky nodded his head.

“I suppose we should work out a plan for what comes next.”
The Avengers will arrive in Time's Square in short order. They will see Frost Giants moving out quickly. There are a few standing guard over something but there is nice and snow shooting up into the air so it isn't obvious right away that it is the Cask of Winter.

But there are many Frost Giants gathered here. It is an invading army.
Vincent had deliberated for some time after receiving Erin's Valentine's Day present. He was reasonably flattered, but more than that, he was annoyed with himself and confused. The confusion was since he was still on the rebound from Roxanne, and wasn't quite sure he was ready for another relationship. On the other hand, there was no need for it to be particularly serious, right? He could just go on a normal date with this girl who was apparently interested in him, right?

The fact that he hadn't noticed her attraction to him was the cause for the annoyance. Distraught over Roxanne or not, he should be more perceptive than that. For shame.

So, when next he finds her by herself at the Mansion, he's worked up the resolve to ask her out.
As soon as Vincent is about to arrive to collect anyone willing to go with him on the rescue mission to Asgard things start to go very wrong. There is suddenly snow pouring down from the sky in Times Square and reports of Frost Giants coming out to attack different parts of the city. The Avengers are going to have to decide what they are going to do really fast.
Erin had just gotten her uniform in and had instructions to try it out. So she's running on the tread will to see how far she can go in this comfortably. She has her iPod blasting a peppy tune because why run if there's no fun sound track?

So far she's going good and strong. After this she might dive into the pool though. She's starting to get a little hot and sweaty.

How long has this been?

Man. Only ten minutes or so according to her play list. She'll go at least another fifteen minutes before she starts to think about stopping.
"In the wake of the attack on Cape Citadel by mutant terrorists earlier this month, much buzz has been made about the so-called "Mutant Problem" on Capital Hill in the most recent session of Congress. Speaking were both Valerie Cooper and Henry Peter Gyrich, members of the Commission on Superhuman Activities, along with noted expert on mutation Dr. Charles Xaiver, and Senator Robert Kelly, long-time proponent of super-human registration. Kelly again called for the registration of all mutant citizens of the United States...."

"A public survey today confirmed that 75% of Americans are in favor of mutant registration..."

"Unknown if the woman called Magneta actually possesses a connection to the former terrorist Magneto... The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver declined to comment..."

"Opinion is still split over whether or not the X-Men intervened to stop Magenta and her terrorists for heroic reasons or for something more sinister..."
Erin turns over a business card in her hand a few times. Her father had been taking her a little more seriously and had been pleased with her last few test scores in school. So this little card with an appointment had come in the mail at school for her.

Apparently he was of the mind she needed a uniform. Not a bad thing really. He was going to foot the bill he just wanted her to go to this one place.

She didn't want to go alone so she decided to ambush the person who knew more about this than she did.

"Hey Bruce."
It wasn't really that big of a deal that she was still figuring stuff out, right? Of course she was having some problems with her folks again which was really nothing new. She was used to them going between being okay parents and jerk-faces. That was fine she could deal with that. She knew just what buttons to press when it came to them.

Se still realizes that she needs to do something about her powers. Her fighting skills in her mind are to be mocked so hard. She's going to shape up when it comes to that because damn it she's a Sterling. Sterlings don't let things like this slide.

Only she has no idea how to start. Working on her powers or something else? She chews on her lip in thought while pacing around one of the living room areas trying to figure that out. She had way too much to work on if she wanted to even think of staying because she really didn't like the idea of putting people at risk.

That couldn't happen. No way. She'd just figure this out somehow.
Tony didn't spend an overly large amount of time at the Avenger's mansion these days. Not if he could help it. This was a special occasion, though. Today, he was going to introduce the kid to their new teacher. He suspected that many of them knew of her already, but proper introductions were only polite. Besides, he wanted to make sure They all knew to give her the proper respect. Anyone who gave her issues would answer to him and his primary methods of discipline were pay cuts and firing... nobody wanted that.

He waited with Kitty in the main living room at the mansion and waited for the kids to gather.
Erin had spent the next day or so trying to smooth things over with her parents. It was very distressing trying to get them to just listen. She did though remember what Captain Marvel had said to her.

And if she could join the Avengers like he had offered things might just be okay. She could convince her parents that it wouldn't hurt them. That would be okay.

And maybe she'd have fun somehow. She didn't think she would but people got into this for worse reasons, right? And it was okay anyways because she did like the idea of helping people.

She takes a deep breath and lets it out and presses the door bell.
