New York was boring. It was dull. It was entirely uninteresting. All of her usual shenanigans that had worked favorably to entertain her in surface times in the past were socially unacceptable now that she was older. This shift in appropriateness left her with not a lot to do short of drink lots of mochas and improve her trident technique (by scaring the crap out of unsuspecting Avengers.) Kassia was starting to reach the end of her entertainment with Starbucks when a very interesting tidbit of information crossed her path: one of the Avengers asked her if she was related to some guy named Remi de Namor. While her initial response was no some further research said otherwise. She was, in fact, related to some dude from another dimension named Remi. Genetically they had the same father. Which made him her brother.

Which means she had been cheated out of all this time tormenting an older brother in only the best Atlantean ways. This was unfair and it had to be corrected. Correcting the situation meant some stalking (she liked to think of it as espionage of a royal variety) and in short order she discovered that Remi ate nearly all the time at a little restaurant not too far away. He especially at there for lunch on Wednesdays. After verifying this pattern for a month Kassia decided to pounce the next Wednesday.

She even brought the trident, just for fun.

"I don't practice it. I rarely use it. I've taken to burning the advisers by adopting their snide 'the Royal Dirtwalker' insult because I kind of like it and it makes them puff and bluster because they've been caught. That and Kassi generally suffices. Dad named me after some obscure Atlantean saint of badass or something to piss Mom off so when people hear the name Kassi, they know it's me. I also embarrassed Dad once by introducing myself as the Atlantean Hellion." She grinned, clearly pleased with her mischief.

"I embarrass my father by not being Valeria Fen. Though he's possibly chagrined she has a thing for Attuma." He shrugged. He missed his actual family, but he was having doubts he would ever see them again.

"So, Kassi," he tried moving into another direction, "mind if your big brother buys you lunch?"

"Valeria Fen?" Kassi asks, but doesn't press the issue. She's perfectly content to move along with the conversation as it shifts gears.

"I don't mind at all. Thank you...especially since I greeted you with a fork assault."

"Eldest sister. Second in line to the throne. Blue like most Atlanteans. Also, she acts more like father than I do." He picked his menu back up. He waved away the fork assault.

"Typical Atlantean greeting of siblings. Think nothing of it. You eaten here before or would you like some recommendations?"

"I'm pretty sure Dad'd trade me for a blue kid most days," she shrugs.

"Some suggestions would be good. I eat out a lot during my surface tours, but usually it's crap like pizza."

"I have two blue siblings. The rest of us fill in the white to dark spectrum." He smirked a little. He thought he had the best skin tone, being a bronzed prince.

"Well, the daily special on Wednesdays are good. I get about three to four entrees here. The fish is fresh from this morning. Their lemon sauce is the best I've tasted. The cream dishes are a touch heavy for regular people, but fine to me. The steak is decent." He had a feeling feeding Kassi would be much like the amount to food to feed a pregnant Alexa. The restaurant would really like him.

"How are the shrimp here? They have about six different types of dishes with shrimp." She narrowed her eyes as she looked at the menu a bit. "Definitely the lobster mac and cheese. That just sounds awesome."

"I have yet to be disappointed with their shrimp dishes. They have quantity and quality to them." He set his menu aside. He knew what he was having before he got there today. Remi smiled as he watched Kassi peruse the menu.

"So, what are you doing on the surface anyway?"

"Parental custody issues. Mom decided that she wanted me above waterline for a little bit each year. I'm supposed to have an even split but Pops usually finds a way to keep me waterlogged a bit longer than she'd like." Kassia shrugged. "Both of their egos get in the way of effective parenting."

He frowned slightly. That did not sound... fun, which was the nice way of putting it. Since Remi was a bit of a hedonist, he did not like the sound of that situation for his newly found little sister.

"Hmm. How do you want to live?"

"I don't really know. I haven't really figured that out yet, but I suspect it will involve Atlantis considering."

"Your life will always involve Atlantis," he reminded with a grin.

"You're their Princess Royal, but if I've learned anything from my father, it's that you don't have rule all the time from the throne in the center of Atlantis. In fact, it's better to go off and get experience that's un-Atlantis. You have time to explore that as long as King McKenzie is on the throne."

"I'm pretty sure the old gills isn't likely to leave the throne anytime soon, either. I'm pretty sure he will be there forever. He has control issues."

"Oh, I know that feeling. But it's a good thing. It means you have time to explore options beyond what people tell you. Surface and underwater." Remi leaned back in his chair as a very cautious waiter came to the table. The Atlantean gave the man an apologetic smile.

"My younger sister will be joining me for lunch. Figured out what you want to eat, Kassi?"
