It's The Eye of the Camera ((New Mutants))

Aiden notified the gals that Val was coming to help out with getting the base rid of Mojo-sent cameras. Then he drove off to New York to go pick up Valeria. He made sure to ask her what she wanted to eat. The least he could do for her help was cook her a good meal. He had feeling he would be more useful in the kitchen than in tracking down the cameras.

When he pulled into the garage, he had a blonde super-genius with him.

"Tah dah," he announced to no one in particular.

Caroline's not used to such language, but she nods. "He is." A pause. "Probably it's magic, then?"

"No good six-armed skank...."

"Val will figure it out," Aiden assured confidently. He had unwavering faith in his teammates, past and present. Also, he would rather focus on them rather than the people who had tortured him.

A wisp of steam rose from Sara's hands, and her eyes glowed slightly red. She gently set the backpack down, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, they were back to their normal blue.

"I have faith in Val. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't still take it out on Mojo's hide..."

"It's probably magic... or teleporting. Which is as damn good as magic. I mean we weren't being very subtle." She runs her fingers through her hair for a moment. Swearing was very uncommon with her.

Being wrong about things and being tricked and having her system hacked into brought out the worst in Valeria, so it seemed. "And I should have known, though, because of you, Sara. Your powers."

She sighed and looked at the set up. "So what I need to do is figure out where the cameras are being delivered, i think..."

"Hmmm..." Angel mused. "How're we gonna do that?"

[jukeboxartist]

"Dunno. Do we have any thing for tracing transdimensional signatures or anything? I mean, I sure don't, but..." she shrugs.

Aiden looked at his cousin and scratched his chin. He turned to Valeria. "Can you trace when Angel teleports? Because she goes through stink-o dimension or something right?"

He glanced around. "All I can offer for tracing things is the flour in the kitchen."

Sara frowned. She didn't like Mojo knowing how her powers worked that well.

"Whatever they're using to transmit, I can't see it... and believe me, I've been looking. What they used to place it? I don't know. If it was subtle, I could have missed it in the background noise. Or it could be something I can't see at all."

"Oh, I could track Angel because I know what we're looking for. I wonder if the machines that are getting through have Spiral's energy pattern on them. That's the key, though. I know what I'm looking for with Angel but..." Valeria paused and tilted her head to consider options. "Between Angel and Spiral, we'd have a good guess between us in frequency."

Angel was not sciency-smart, but she could follow an idea when she had to.

"So if we narrow down the frequency, between me 'portin' and what we know about that six-armed swamp rat... maybe we find somethin' out?"

[jukeboxartist]

"Angel, that ain't nice. I'm sure there are some perfectly decent swamp rats out there. But yeah, I agree keeping Spiral in mind's the way to go."

"And while you do that, I'll cook supper!" It sounded like a plan to him. He was definitely feeling like it was getting out of his depth. There was a plan for everyone to work with. His part just happened to be tastier than the rest.

"Germanic food takes longer with all the cooking and stuff." As opposed to his sashimi and sushi skills.

"Not when I fix it."

Sara grinned and held up her hands, creating a slight glow between them.

Her way was quicker, yes, but there was a very good reason Aiden did all their cooking.

"I'm glad you ladies agree. Though figuring out what her frequency is will have to wait until we drag everything back into place. I'm fairly sure everything is safe right now."

So more back breaking work, and then finding the frequency. And then considering how to kill Mojo.

".. I'm pretty sure Germanic food needs to be slow cooked, Sara."

Angel nodded. "All right. We'll get everything put back, have a little food, then go at it again."

"Good plan." Caroline'll just follow along, and offer any help she can with dinner.
