Time for a talk.
WHEN: Friday afternoon
WHAT: May needs to have words with Jay
WHERE: His room
WHO: Jay and May
It's been sometime since she's seen Jay.
It might be the best for right now, considering May had to juggle quite a few things. Like asking certian best friends of certian fathers if she could get rides back up to college for the rest of the semester in the Fantasticar until she could transfer to Columiba University come the next Fall term.
Or hold off a while longer, that wasn't such a bad idea... again. Though she was pretty sure her father would flip his mind if she decided to hold off on going to college, again. It wasn't too pretty.
But after that was done, she realized she needed to go talk to someone. Not that May much cared if someone saw her walking down the familiar hall. She figured - and she wasn't great at this, she was often thick as toast - this could be encouraging.
And it was time to tell Jay things, really. A lot of things, notably after his rampage. Because the one time they talked before then had gone... poorly. She pauses at his door, and then she knocks.

He was trying to teach Boo how to play some Street Fighter when there was a knock at his door. Jay paused the game. It wasn't his Mom because she would have just barged in. It wasn't the usual time for Marcus to swing by.
He got up from lounging on the bed and pushed his hair out of his eyes. "Yes?"
He blinked at the petite redhead after he opened the door.

She heard noises. Those hadokeens and what not. She pushed back her hair and quietly rocked on her heels. Memories of her pet spiders back home flashed. They didn't tend to live long, those spiders.
"Hi," She smiled, "Can I come in for a talk?"
She sounded lighter than she felt.
no subject
"Sure! Uh, come on in." He stepped back and opened the door wider to admit one May Parker into his hidey room.
Boo sat on the bed and eyed the interloping redhead.

She just hadn't been around in the last few months. It made her look at her shoes for a moment as she stepped and walked a few feet into the room. She waited for the door to shut and she wondered what to say first.
Be honest? Be not awkward? Oh, when wasn't she not awkward with Jay? The first few times they spoke they had been awkward and it was like that again. But there wasn't any real reason to be awkward. Was there?
"I miss you."
Way to be selfish, May-Day.

As Boo disappeared inside its mini-apartment, Jay closed the door behind May. He wasn't sure why she was looking at her feet so he was looking at them when she spoke. Jay almost gave himself whiplash raising his head.
"Bzuh huh?" His mouth wasn't working, and his eye were a little wide. "I mean, uh, really?"
He facepalmed. His mouth had short circuited and run away from him.
Jay, you frigging goober. :|
This was important.
"Yes. I... that's why I had been acting funny. I miss you and I didn't want you to see it."
The rampage was... very much secondary in her mind right now. Priorities when you were a young adult, really.
That's the way ladies like him!
"I miss you, too." He winced slightly. He took a breath as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean I miss you like crazy, but I thought you'd go off to college and find a guy for you that... that's not a monster half the time. My heart didn't get the memo."
They flock to him. Serious.
No, wait, she should. But she should have been smarter about this than going about it by telling him she missed him. And that everything between them wasn't his fault and it was more hers for not being more open.
"... I thought you'd be here and find a girl who'd... you know. Wouldn't go galvanizing off and making a zillion college career switches through out her early 20s. Someone more mature than I am. I'd thought you'd also be resentful that I left and just... would be too angry with me."
It confuses the hell out of him.
He let out a deep breath. "I was angry. At you a little. More at me. I'm still angry at me for letting you go. I don't... I don't care how many changes you make 'til you find happiness. I still love you."
Which could possibly send May running from the room. The monster-guy was still hung up on her.
no subject
"I'd be very angry at me. No discussion. Just... poof. 'Off to College, have fun' and --" May's eyes became startled, "You.... you're still in love with me?"
Her lips twitched quietly into a smile. So very faint, but it was a smile.
no subject
"Yes, I am," he answered simply. It didn't need much adornment he thought. It was the truth.
no subject
A deep breath as she reached out for his free hand. "I'm staying after the spring term ends. I'm borrowing Mr. Storm's car for a little bit so I can come back here more often."
no subject
It took him a moment to let it sink in. He reached for one of her hands with one of his. "So... that means... we can be a we?"
no subject
"I... I'd like to be we again. I know there's a lot we both need to work out. Some things we need to talk about. But... yes. I want to be we again."
no subject
He took in a breath. "Then we're together. Decision's unanimous."
For the first time since he rampaged, Jay smiled and meant it.
no subject
Maybe her destiny was here.
"We'll have a twitter party. We'll be bigger than the 2012 election."
She goes to her toes, hands on his shoulder. They do need to talk about the rampage, but things need to happen. Like a kiss.
no subject
And boy, did Jay kiss his once-ex-now-back girlfriend. With every bit of longing he had stockpiled since she went off to college.
no subject
She hadn't kissed anyone since their break up.

Eventually, Jay had to remember to breathe. Some biological imperatives could not be avoided.
"Wow," he breathed with a grin. "I've missed that, too."
no subject
Breathing was good, but she still felt breathless after a healthy glup of air.
"Yeah, I can't say I didn't miss it. So we just... still got things to talk about. But it's gonna be easier."
no subject
He wasn't about to let of of May though. He tried to maneuver them both to sit on his bed. It was Hulk-sized, so it took up a lot of the room, and it was the most convenient sitting surface.
"Wh-What else we got to talk about?"
no subject
She quietly touched Jay's hand to look up at him, lips quietly quirking into a sad smile, "I think we need to talk about that rampage, Jay."
no subject
Not if he was going to have May back. She deserved his best.
He managed to find his voice. "What... do you want to know?"
no subject
"You knew me and didn't. And I... I wanted to know what else I might have done to you. Besides... you know, bending up?" Since they were back together and apparently their bond hadn't broken as cleanly as they hoped.
no subject
"While she was in my head... messing with memories, he was trying to get gamma radiation. So, I let go. I... stopped holding the rage in. It took over."
He shifted a bit. "After I let it go, I couldn't rein it in. One of the times I almost got through, it was you. But rage will grab any hurt and use it. I fought hard, but I couldn't stop it enough. A duck."
