On a Wing and New Technology ((Open))
After getting a small feeling working with a bunch of heroes to bring down some supernatural goings on in the city, Vesper determinedly updated his gear. A few test runs and some tweaking, he now had a fully upgraded suit. Now, the bat-suited man was trying to get back on regular patrols. With his recent engagement and his father in town for business, he had been a little lax on getting out.
An updraft helped carry him higher as he looked for action. He felt the need to put feet and fists into good use. Or maybe the new gear needed a night out. Either way he was scouring the streets with his hearing to find something other than noise from televisions that sounded dangerous.

Then she called out to the backseat passengers, raising her voice to be heard through the glass.
"It's ok, you're safe now. We'll have you out in a jiffy. Is anyone hurt in there?"

Helena Beltrame Lopes was shoving some of her fellow limo occupants off her lap and brushing champagne off her blouse. She shoved and crawled her way toward the door.

"Well, one of them isn't hurt," he noted to Hellkitten.

Liza eyed the rear door of the limo.
"Should we open it?"
no subject
The woman turned toward the driver's compartment and the anger mixed with confusion. "É mesmo?"
She blinked at the pair and more specifically the man dressed like an anthropomorphic bat. "... Vesper?"
no subject
His wings opened with a sching when the model noticed him.
"That is what I am called," he said carefully. He was braced to grab Hellkitten around the waist and flee if need be.
no subject
"Friend of yours?" She muttered under her breath to Vesper.
Then, louder, she asked the woman: "Are you injured?"
no subject
"Aren't you far from home, hero?" She looked him up and down, appraisingly. She glanced at the driver's compartment when she could see the smashed windshield and dead driver.
She gave Hellkitten a glance. "We're just shaken up. Must have been a wrong turn."

"I go where I'm needed," he replied to Helena. He hoped his voice modulator did not crap out anytime soon. He did relax a little when his ex did not whip out a gun and try to shoot him in the eye.
no subject
"Are you sure? We can call an ambulance for you."
Or she could, if...
Liza whispered again. "First request for that new costume? A pocket for a phone."
no subject
"They might need one. We'll need a way to get out of... here." She noticed the gang members tied to a light post. "And maybe some protection."
She turned back to Vesper. "So, the heroes have my thanks for saving us."
no subject
"I'll call in the police." He brought his wings back in silently. It was getting a little heavy and awkward to have them out. He put a finger up by his actual ear to press on the bluetooth component.

She stepped towards the group of models and began to try and herd them away from the carnage of the car and the thugs, and towards a safer area of sidewalk.

"The police are on their-uh." He looked up and noticed Helena right in front of him. He thought about judo chopping her and running but restrained himself. His tough vigilante cred could not be undone by a model.

(Really, Liza just didn't want to be near the regurgitating supermodel.)
When she came a little closer to the woman, she noted the body language between her and Vesper. Liza paused, and listened.

She stepped forward and kissed his cheek. Before she pulled back, she put her mouth by where his ear should be. "Tell your boss, my Tchelo, I'll see him soon," she whispered barely audibly.
Then she pulled away from the hero and sauntered toward the mess of models panicking behind the limo.

He blinked at Hellkitten. He had no idea how much of that she heard. "Are you going to wait for the police or get to going with me?"
no subject
Liza grinned. She had heard most of the conversation, but decided not to comment. She looked around. The thugs seemed to all be secured or unconscious.
"It appears to be more or less under control here."
no subject
"I can give you a lift to wherever you need to go. It might be better than swinging around and colliding with one of the Spider-people."
no subject
She stepped closer and grabbed hold of his armor.
"Superhero traffic control. It could totally be a growth industry."
no subject
"It's the step before keeping track of all those flying cars people will be using, right?" He asked with a slight grin as they lifted off.
"Where to?"
no subject
Not that Hell's Kitchen didn't have a homey ring to it already.

Liza burst out laughing.
"Ok, for real. I've got an email address you can give your supplier. hellkitten@avengers.org. I still have it from when I took some training with them. And no, I didn't pick that name myself..."
