Going Back to Basics (open to mansion folk)

Alisa's head was still killing her after that Soiree. It pretty much confirmed she did not want ANYTHING to do with the Hellfire Club what so ever. Sebastian made sure she got the message by having Tessa play with her mind like a violin. Because of her own stubbornness, Alisa realized she could have died playing such a game. And for what? To keep some clients? It just was not worth it.

That being said, she did keep her word with Ryan. She got all the paperwork to enroll herself in the continuing education program at the Xavier Institute. She paid for her tuition in full (it was just a drop in the bucket for her), and now she was going to the Institute to drop everything off and perhaps meet with Rachel about what she was hoping to gain from this.

She pulled up to the Institute in her Cobra, careful with how she parked it, and obeying the speed limit. Alisa stepped out of the car, not dressed like the first time she came here. No, she reverted back to her white business shirt, red tie, suspenders, black and grey pinstripe skirt, and... well... her black prosthetic. No more pretending to be someone else. This was who she was, take it or leave it.

Alisa marched up the steps to the Institute and then gave the door a good knock to announce she had arrived.

"Non, non! I wish to be here! I am playing no charade!" Alisa perked up, now looking worried. "My apologies. I will adhere to de strict terms an' be good."

She tried to relax a bit as she sat in that chair. For the most part, she was silent as Rachel continued to go over things.

Rachel stared at her. She might need a good, stiff drink later. Maybe her bond with Doug would make him raid someone's whiskey stash. There had to be someone with one of those on campus. "Then, you may go. Unless you need anything else?"

"I can' t'ink o' anyt'ing else. Oder den you may need to e-mail me a schedule, so I know when to show up for de classes an' testin' ." Alisa stood up finally. She reached her hand out to give Rachel's a shake if she wanted to.

"I'm gonna head off, den. I'm gonna be spendin' some time in Hyde Park before headin' home. If you need to contact me, my cellphone is listed in de paperwork I gave you."

Rachel rose up smoothly behind her desk. She gripped Alisa's hand firmly in the shake.

"Someone from the school will be in touch. Most likely Dr. McCoy for the testing first. Your classes will be set up after his assessment."

"Alright. I'll be looking forward to hearin' back from all o' you."

There was a smile at the firm handshake. She then made her way out of the office and towards the mansion's front doors. This was perhaps the best decision (other than deciding to pursue Ryan), that she had made in a long time.
