Alexa had been attempting to take it easy following her caffinated adventures with the Tiki Freaks. It wasn't all that difficult, really, especially since Remi had finally opened up with the l-bomb and she decided to take full advantage of it by spending extra time with him, even joining him in his tank--which had the interesting side effect of making the baby kick her harder and be generally more belligerent inside her. Alexa wondered exactly how much of the Atlantean genes were going to end up expressed in the baby, just like she wondered if the world was really ready for an Atlantean Stark. Remi's sister, Kassi, seemed to think so. Remi seemed horrified by the idea a little. The only person who hadn't weighed in was the original Stark himself.

Alexa hadn't really talked to him since they argued after rescuing Remi from cross dimensional insanity. She hadn't really seen him since her return from coffee hell and she realized that she needed to change that, even if to just stop in and notify him that she was fine. Her mother had asked her to do at least that.

So mid-morning on a Tuesday Alexa shuffled her overly pregnant self to Tony's office.

"Oh shit I'm having a baby, jerk!" Alexa yelped and indeed, that is what was happening. Her whole posture changed as her body seemed to compress a bit and she gripped tightly to the side of the pool.

There was screaming, crying, obscenities, a threat of orbital lasers, blood in the water and then a blood-curdling yelp and then a soft sound of movement in water. Then a gentle spash-like sound. A tiny, winged foot kicked away from Alexa, propelling a small body slightly away from its mother.

The baby was here.

Remi tried to help Alexa and stay out of the way of the professionals. Some of it was filled with useless hand gestures. He took the verbal barrage ever so glad he was in a building and slightly shielded from orbital lasers.

He blinked down in the water.

"... ankle wings." Despite the medical professionals in the room, Remi reached out to scoop up the newborn up with invisible shields while using his own body to steady Alexa.

"Is that normal?" Alexa sounded a little freaked, though mostly tired. And when Remi lifted his daughter out of the water, she took her first full breath of air that wasn't tempered with water, letting out a healthy, enthusiastic cry.

"I don't have them, but most Atlanteans do. So, yes. We'll call that normal," he assured. He brought their daughter closer to Alexa for her to hold.

There was possibly things he should be letting the doctors do. But his eyes were a little watery.

"This is our little girl."

Alexa took the baby, now squirming, into her arms and looked down at her. Sure enough there were tiny wings on her ankles and her ears and eyebrows ere both a little pointy, moreso the ears. But the damp hair on her head was red and abundant and her tiny fists were clenched tight like she might punch something. Her nose was scrunched with her tiny wails.

"She's...so damn cute...."

Remi placed a soft kiss on Alexa's temple. "You did good, Mama. We have a gorgeous daughter."

Since she had the baby, he held Alexa. It was... a slightly soggy portrait of his family now.
