It's not a date? (Open Avengers and Vincent)

Mira was scrambling, trying to find something decent to wear, even if technically she was just going to visit Vincent in the lab. Six outfits later she came out of her room, Lucifer over her shoulder. She was actually wearing HEELS! the skirt was tastefully summery and the sleeveless blouse looked more model than rocker.

"Ugh, I'm already running late," She started for the door, dialing for a cab because no way in hell was she going to ride her bike in this get up. Hopefully no one else in the house would see her dolled up, she had a feeling she'd never live it down.

Good thing too or she'd hit him for it. "Yeah, bit above my programing ability too. I'm good with the mechanics, not the operating systems."

"You're enjoying this too much aren't you?" She smoothed her skirt out when he stepped back, still grinning, it wasn't that bad. "I'll try not to abuse it too much though." She ran a hand through her hair quickly to fix it so it wasn't falling into her face again.

"Shall we? I've been wanting to try this place for a while."

He gives her another meaningful gaze.

"I think I'm enjoying this the right amount."

He offers Mira his arm as they head towards the restaurant.

She took the offered arm. "I meant me clinging to you silly."

When they were escorted to their table the wine menu was handed to Vincent once they were seated. "Not that I'm not, I like this."

"Yes, so did I." He smiles confidently.

Once they're seated, he opens his menu and tilts his head to her slightly. "And why is that?" He asks, sincerely.

"Well considering you're here, I..." She flustered a moment. "Okay so little nervous, Jay so didn't help he caught me leaving all dressed up."

Vincent raises an eyebrow. "He didn't say anything untoward, did he?"

She shook her head. "He just knocked me off my game for a bit." She gave a small smile. "And really I can give back anything he dishes out as long as he doesn't do the jolly green giant routine."

"What did he say?" Vincent inquires, not forcing her back to the question of why she's enjoying being with him, as much as he'd like to have her expound on it.

She smirked a little. "Let's just say he was caught off guard by the heels." Mira tucked hair from her face. "I'm just glad I haven't managed to fall on my face in them. Heels and me don't co-exist well, but I didn't have sneakers that looked good with a skirt." She smiled.

"I'll have to fix that later. Today though, kinda just want to hang out with you unless called." She did have her phone on her, she was sure if they needed her they'd call, until then she'd enjoy her date and if something came up she'd deal with it.

"I think you and heels are co-existing just fine, from where I was standing." Vincent smiles, sipping his water before ordering a riesling.

See, he can do flirting. It's easy. He likes complimenting women to begin with.

Just... what next?

"Well, thank you for inviting me..."

She gave a small grin. "Well who else would I invite? The band I play with... Are more the diner and dives kind of places, and the team..." She'd let that drop, because despite living and working with them she didn't think it would work to bring them to the fancy places.

"Besides, I've been told I need to get out of the workshop every so often, and figured if I have to socialize I should drag someone out of the lab with me." She smiled brightly.

He has to think to remember to do so, but Vincent refrains from wrinkling his nose or letting any possible skepticism show about those types of eateries, and/or their patrons.

He returns her smile. "Well, it is appreciated." He pauses to think. "I'm fairly certain I had breakfast this morning... but things like eating slip away from me once in a while when I'm at work on something."

She watches his face and actually giggles because really she's sure that the nose wrinkle's there somewhere! "Hey, not all of them are horrible. I've worked them a few times when I was in small towns out west."

"See, I might have skipped breakfast, but partly because I was in the middle of recalibrating an engine." She rubbed at the wrist with the band, it was irritating her a little, but no more than usual. "If I hadn't remembered to set four alarms I might have forgotten about this."

At that, Vincent stops in the middle of his drink of water, looking at her curiously, before setting his glass down.

"The prevailing opinion I've heard is that something that takes three or more alarms is generally something you don't want to be doing. Like getting up in the morning for a job you don't like."

She grinned. "Takes two alarms to wake me up most the time, the other two... Well let's just say last night i set them knowing I'd be working on the engine this morning. And they're not audible alarms. The bike's larned shocking me a little helps better, which is why my wrist is sore now."

"Nothing serious, I hope?" He furrows his brow in concern, gesturing for her to offer the offending wrist to him.

She shook her head offering the wrist with the band. "Nothing more than usual, It'll be sore another hour, but I can still use it."

The skin was a little red around the band, more like a small burn, but nothing serious. "I've had worse when it felt I was in danger while on the road. W're still working on a happy medium, until then I'll deal with a few light electrical burns now and then, to wake me usually it's more of a vibration, like a cell phone."

He grunts an acknowledgment, but still works his fingers over the irritation, offering some minor healing magic to soothe things.

Making sure not to hold her hand so long as for it to be untoward, he finally takes a more thorough look at the menu.

She watched him a moment and pulled her hand back when he did. Her wrist did feel a little better.

"You didn't have to do that Vincent... But thank you." She smiled a little. She had an idea of what she wanted already. French onion soup and she wanted to try the lime cured tuna. Hey she may not like being in the water, but food from the sea's awesome!

He shrugs, looking over the menu. "Money is for spending. Toys are for playing with. Magic is for using. I've got the cheat codes to the universe. No sense in not exploiting them when there's a use for it."

"Even if that use is caused by human error?" She grinned a little. "Even after so long, still learning it's capabilities after all." Though she decided to change topic on him. "So, any other projects you probably shouldn't tell me about?"

"I think human error is the root of most advancement, magical, scientific, or otherwise. Right alongside necessity, greed, or trying to impress the opposite sex." Vincent smirks.

He settles on the fried seafood ravioli. He needs something with a bit of weight to it.

"So do you think you need to impress me?" She's grinning obviously putting him on the spot to tease him.

Their orders are taken and they're left on their own again while it's prepared.

He smiles softly, after a moment to consider it.

"I'd... like you to be impressed by me."

She flashed a grin that hinted she could be mean at that moment. "You know, you kinda did that dragging my robotic armored ass out of the Hudson."
