It's not a date? (Open Avengers and Vincent)

Mira was scrambling, trying to find something decent to wear, even if technically she was just going to visit Vincent in the lab.  Six outfits later she came out of her room, Lucifer over her shoulder.  She was actually wearing HEELS!  the skirt was tastefully summery and the sleeveless blouse looked more model than rocker.  

"Ugh, I'm already running late,"  She started for the door, dialing for a cab because no way in hell was she going to ride her bike in this get up.  Hopefully no one else in the house would see her dolled up, she had a feeling she'd never live it down.

She giggled. "Torn jeans and shirts, really? Most people here hate the grunge look." Though she will admit she can pull it off with style. "Though it's better than the dresses I wear at the other club. Only because they look better with heels. Luckily I don't have to move too much so flats are fine."

"You look lovely in anything, but comfort is always a lady's best accessory." He raises his glass with the statement.

"Wise words Vincent." She lifted her glass to that as well smiling brightly at him.

"Yes, well... I am one of the smartest people alive." He allows himself to preen, downing the contents of his glass.

That got a laugh from her. "You know only guys with egos that need boosting say that. But it is cute on you." She hid the blush with her drink.

"You're free to do anything you like to boost my ego." He grins at her, and nudges her leg under the table with his foot.

"Keep that up your project at work might be delayed a little." She grinned back as she slipped out of one of her heels, sliding her foot against his leg.

After a moment or two of being absolutely willing to let her do that, Vincent blinks. "Project?" He then sits up straight. "Oh... I..." He grins sheepishly. "Would you believe that for a minute I actually forgot I'm on my lunch break?"

She giggled. "So, really how much trouble would you get into being a little late getting back. I don't mind if you use me as the excuse to why really." She smirked. "Because all work and no play has ruined how many relationships when it's come to costumes?"

"...how late are you thinking of?" He inquires hesitantly, tilting his head to divert her attention to their arriving food.

"Hour? Maybe two?" She grins. "Though if you'd rather go back to work it's fine. WE can do something later. Should probably finish updating the hardware in some of the systems anyway."

[vincent_amora]

He waits for the server to leave before replying. "...what kind of dress code did you have in mind for that 'hour, maybe two'?" He's grinning a bit more confidently now.

"Oh, I don't know, depends on how things go." She smirked. "Optional might be on the list."

[vincent_amora]

He smiles and resumes playing footsie with her, having slipped a foot out of one of his shoes as well. "You make a very compelling case, Miss Greeson. I think I'll call work after this course."

She giggled as she picked up her fork. "Looks like the work on the computers can get delayed another day. Good thing it's not an emergency fix." She smirked.

[vincent_amora]

"I just have a very keen awareness of where my priorities are." Vincent replies confidently. Then, more quietly, "And a boss who probably understands them..." He starts to eat.

"Probably a good thing. Though really if you get into trouble blame it on me. I totally kidnapped you." She grinned before taking a bite of her meal, purring a little at the taste. Much better than she had been expecting.

He eats a bit more, then speaks with his voice lowered. "So... did you have somewhere in mind? If it gets to that, I mean; I don't want to presume. I just would rather not risk Audhild, or Kristoff, coming home in the midst of anything... delicate."

She giggled a moment. "Hadn't thought that far, though... my dressing room at the club, Boss knows that I sometimes crash there if I need to clear my head. Unless you have another plan."

[vincent_amora]

He nods. Listening to her giggle is like being hugged, and he smiles in response.

"Well, I don't think a penthouse suite is in the cards anymore. Turns out things are a lot more expensive when you don't cast a spell on the concierge's mind. I'd like to see where you work anyway."

"You mean when not in training." She grinned a little. "You'll be the first there actually. None of the team have gone." She grinned. "Not that I haven't invited them." She sipped her drink a moment. "And I'd rather not have a penthouse anyway. Too disconnected from people."

He raises an eyebrow coyly. "Invited any of them for the same reason as me? I'm guessing no, since it'd be hard to imagine them turning you down." He winks at her.

He considers her outlook, then nods. "I can understand that. I love the city, but I need to be able to seclude myself at times.

"Please living with them is enough, I don't date roomies." She grinned at him. "Besides, only one seems interested in music as far as I know, and pretty sure Jay's got someone."

"Though all wizards had some little cabin in the woods somewhere. Thanks for bursting that bubble." She flashed a grin to let him know she was kidding. "Though know that feeling. It's why I disappear in engine blocks."

"Hey, I'm still the classic wizard." He grins. "Working out of a fortified lair inside a giant tower... it just happens to have my boss' name on it instead of mine."

"You know that doesn't count right?" She giggled more. "Because it's not your tower, but guess it'll have to do. But I'm no princess."
