Operation: Reiko

Alisa cringed as she drove back to the city in her new car. After spending more time by herself, she realized something. There was someone who desperately needed her help, or else she was going to end up on the same path she took. And unfortunately, she also realized she needed help from the ONE person she swore she was never going to go near again. A double edged sword if there was one.

After much thought, Alisa made the hard choice of going back on her promise, again... but this time for a good reason. Besides, once this was over, she could part ways and get on with her life, right? After driving up to The Soho House, she allowed the valet to take her car, and made her way inside. She had membership due to all the work she did in the city, along with her fortune. Lucky her.

She made her way inside of the club, and then headed for the spa area, the one place she knew where to find the person who could help her with her plans. After rolling her eyes and giving off a sigh, Alisa made her way into one of the private rooms that housed that person.

"Alistaire, we need to talk. I need your help with somet'ing... and unfortunately, you are de only one who can help. Will you hear me out?"

"A talent like that shouldn't be left to fester, sensei." Alistaire addresses her calmly. He doesn't advance, but makes no indication of acknowledging Alisa moving between them. Nor does he respond to her belief that she's going back.

"I could use someone with your medical skill in my employ. And connect you with those who would appreciate your other talents, if you choose to cultivate them."

"Alistaire, her talent is not going to fester. It is her own to control for once." Alisa pointed out, her eyes narrowed as she looked at him. "Let Reiko-san choose her own path, not the one you appear to have mapped out for her. Anything less would be an insult to me after all the trouble I went through to ensure the Yakuza would not mess with her, or you, ever again."

A small smirk came across Alisa's face as she tried to lean back and relax a little more.

"Besides, over twenty four hours on a plane was too much for me! Especially since I had nothing to do during that flight."

She was silent for a bit, even though Alisa was sticking up for her she sighed.

"You two both realize I technically am not a doctor yet right? I still have at least two years of school left before that is the case, I just... know more about the human body than most students in my class." She bit her lip, Alisa was right the path she took now was hers, she didn't have to worry about the family again.

"Alisa-kun, I know that you wish the best for me, but I am in debt to you and Shaw-kun." Her eyes looked at Alistaire. "If I work for you I ask for the right to refuse to do a task at any time. And that if I feel I am being used that I can walk away, no strings attached."

"I'll endeavor to make sure you're more entertained on the return." He says discretely to Alisa.

"Reiko... all the better. Not being a licensed physician means you're not obligated to report certain injuries. Just heal them.

More than that, academia exists to create a standard. You know what they call a doctor who graduates at the bottom of their class, after all?" He changes his seating a bit, to make better eye contact with her, if not move closer.

His comment just made her raise an eyebrow. She did not blush, she tried not to show much facial expression over his discrete wording. She knew what it meant, and wanted to keep it somewhat private between them.

"Alistaire, not to close. If you make skin contact with her she will kill you." Alisa warned him. She worried that a single touch could land him in the hospital or worse. Mostly because she would have to answer to his grandfather if anything should happen to him.

"I think you should support Reiko if she wishes to pursue her license. Having more knowledge would make her power powerful, and I think would make her happier as well. However, that choice is hers to make, not ours." She offered a smile.

"Like patching up bullet holes? Do not think that I will use my ability to patch simple wounds Alistaire. If an x-ray was taken right now of me you'd see a lot of fractured bones." They were healing, slipping back into whatever space her body stored wounds, but he needed to know using her gift was like walking on a double edged knife. One that she would always be balancing on.

"And I am not at the lowest end of my class. I'm in the middle range, not because I don't apply myself, I do not wish the recognition of being the first in my class. Would be that much harder to hide that I am... different."

"I can speak for myself Alisa-kun, but thank you you are right.

"You misunderstand. A doctor who graduates at the bottom of their class is called 'a doctor'. There's no recognition or appreciation of true talent in standard lines of accreditation. I can give you a stage to truly cultivate your gift.

Besides, if you were a regular physician, there'd be limits to how much could be charged for your services." He grins.

Reiko was right, and she could speak for herself. She was no damsel in distress. Alisa just her wanted to know she was an ally, and a friend who would stick up for her when needed.

For now, Alisa went silent. She moved her hands to rest behind her head, while still balancing the folded up towel on it. She appeared to be thinking quite deeply about something. Alistaire had spent more time with her than anyone else, so he would know she was really thinking on something important.

"I would be required to doesn't mean I would if it was a situation that would out me or others like me. Here, only the government knows I'm mutant... and well, they think I'm a Japanese rip of Hawkeye, I'm fine with letting most people here think that."

She did give a small grin. "I still owe you and Alisa both for what you did. My grandfather may not have followed old law of ninjitsu, but I will."

"It's settled then. You'll come to work for me." Alistaire smiles. "Welcome to my world, sensei." He nods to her and sinks down further into the spring, up to his chin.

She did not know if she should congratulate Reiko or not. Instead, Alisa playfully dunked Alistaire's head under the water before getting out of the hot springs. She took her towel off her head and began to wrap it around her body, after drying herself off, and hiding the sword tattoo that went down her back. Proof of her dealings with the Thieves Guild Enforcer's Branch.

"If anyone needs me, I will be in the bedroom." She did not add that she doubted anyone needed her. Instead, she walked with a confidence that was rarely seen from her.

And here's sputtering from Reiko at Alistaire's words. Hadn't she just said she wanted to finish her studies first?

Though the sputtering turned into giggles when Alisa dunked him. She stayed sitting up to her shoulders in the water not willing to get out just yet.

"Good night Alisa-kun." She waved to the American assassin as she left.

Alistaire might have been interested in following her, had she not dunked him. He resets himself and runs his hands back through his hair. He then moves to sit closer to Reiko.

"I'll have to hire you under the title of 'health consultant' or something similar, since you don't have your doctorate yet. No sense leaving yourself liable to an accusation of malpractice."

"So you aren't interested in my fighting skills at all? That... is actually different." Unexpected and relaxing to be honest.

"I'm still not sure when I fully agreed to this, but as long as I am not hired on as a nursemaid I think I can handle things."

"I like all my employees to be able to defend myself, but a medical professional is a more prominent hole in my personal staff.

If you're interested in combat, there should be ample opportunity for that." He smiles, looking her over again.

She shook her head. "No, I have done enough killing I will not fight unless it's for self defense."

She sank a little more in the water.

"What about defense of others?" He tilts his head inquisitively.

"If it is required for the job I will, or if a child is in the way. You'll have to know now, children are more important in my eyes than most adults."

All because she doesn't want another child to live the life she had.
