Villainy without Pier!
Pier Four, headquarters to the World Famous Future Foundation! A place of science and learning, pushing the boundaries of tomorrow...TODAY! But today, science has come under attack! The forces of wickedness have been secreted into the building by parties unknown, using powerful teleportation technology!
The Dreadknight, ghost bound to a suit of living armor, with his enchanted sword and shield stalked the halls...
The Blizzard, master of molecular motion and captain of cold, left a frosty path through the building...
Electro, the vampy villianness of volts, sizzled through the corridors....
Cardiac, beta-powered punisher of heroes, wielder of wicked weaponry that served as a conduit for his energy, made his own way through the labs...
And Boomrang, master markman and tricky tosser, prowled the building....
All of them searching for something... and all of them ready for trouble...

No, this was...serious.
Dropping his script, Ryan walked over to the window of his suite and threw it open.
Trouble. Must be Wednesday.
He leaped out the window, his casual clothes morphing into his costume.
He turned a corner around the building to see...
"Well, holy crap."

"Hey hero!" Blizzard shouted. "You better run! Otherwise, I can't guarantee you won't have a... chilly reception!"
He lobbed a stream of icicles Ryan's way.

"Oh, I'm just beginning to get warmed up!"
Technically, his power was not cold or even the draining of heat. What he actually possessed was the power to stop molecular motion. Cold and ice were the most common byproduct of that, however.
He gestured, encasing Ryan's flying form in a cube of ice.

Because he was an ice cube and he couldn't fly.
Thankfully, though, he was encased in ice, not made into ice himself. This meant that he didn't shatter when he fell.
The ice did, though.
Ryan snarled beneath his breath and shot straight up into the air.
He seemed something like a shooting star going the wrong way.
Bricks of cosmic energy surged forth to batter Blizzard.

"Lock this lab until given the All Clear," he ordered before he went out the door. He didn't wait to hear if the door locked behind him.
He was flying through the halls, heading toward where he thought Alexa and their daughter might be.

"Zounds!" he shouted as he saw Remi approach. "Yon Atlantean doth appear with all due speed! Very well! Let him taste the flat of my blade!"
He swung his sword around as Remi drew closer.
no subject
"Flat of your blade? What are you going to fail to do? Spank me?"
no subject
"Perhaps thou wouldst try thy blade skills against mine? It seems thou wouldst make a worthy opponent."
no subject
"You're standing between me and my family." The Atlantean didn't see a way around the man that was safe or wouldn't hurt his own pride. "So, I'll go through you."
He pressed forward with his shield, leaving his sword hand back to strike if an opening came up.

"Well, well, well! Isn't this a SHOCKING turn of events!" She laughed, extending her fists and firing an electrical bolt at Mary.

She rolled herself into a ball, bouncing along the walls, picking up speed as she did.

Mary bounced painfully off the wall, hitting the ground and unfolding back to her default form.

"Okay people," she shouted to the rest of the lab. "We've trained for this. Lab is on lockdown. You know the drill."

When it became apparent that the lab was on break down, he took out an explosive boomerang and thew it at the sealed door, trying to blow it open so he could enter the lab.

Inside, Katie did her best to keep the other scientists from panicking. Idly, she reached over and grabbed an empty beaker, disintegrating it in her hands. Enough energy for a quick shot, if it came down to it.

"Everyone, get to the secondary fall back position," she directed.
"What about you, Doctor Power?" one asked.
"I'll hold this bastard off! Just go!"

He put up both hands, firing bolts of energy down the hall.

Jacob did his best to duck and dodge, but even though he was agile for his size, he couldn't avoid them all. The ones that hit, hit hard and knocked him back a few steps. He knew he had to push through, though. His best chance was to get in close.

Aftermath...
Worse, various pieces of technology were missing. Someone or something had somehow gotten to them during the fighting, though the security cameras showed nothing at all. Not to mention the damage to the facility from the fighting.
"Well," Mary said. "This ain't good."
