Being a SHIELD agent in a relationship with someone with known criminal ties? Awkward.

Being a SHIELD agent engaged to someone with known criminal ties? Very awkward.

Being a SHIELD agent engaged to someone with known criminal ties and effectively being blackmailed for it? Very high awkwardness levels approaching.

Being a SHIELD agent engaged to someone with known criminal ties, effectively being blackmailed for it and actually liking the gal? Weird, hot, and STILL very awkward.

Being a SHIELD agent engaged to someone with known criminal ties, effectively being blackmailed for it, actually liking the gal, and wishing to let the family know there's at least a relationship going? This was the pinnacle of weirdness that Steve Coulson found himself in. How in the blue hell was he going to bring this up to his twin sister, let alone his father?

So for now Steve went on totally normal. Business as usual. Yes. That's it. Business as usual.

Totally and utterly normal.

I can go in and look at the paperwork, bring them down. Alisa...I do like her. But she's tangential to what I'm doing right now. She's nice. She's sweet. "There is a difference between hiding things and not having time to share them yet. This was the later. I had full intention of sharing this with you, and even if I didn't have the time you know what would have happened? My actions would be in the next round of shared department meetings! And I would have invited Alisa to meet you and Dad just after that! I mean, I like her and if I had been trying to 'hide' her why would you have even been invited here? I could have said no right then and there and you would have no idea!"

Either this is work related, which, btw, you're not a field agent, and you just admitted you "kinda like" your asset, which means your ass should get pulled from this so fast your head spins, or you're ENGAGED to a girl "you kinda like"."

She shook her head in total disgust. "This *is* going to be the next round of shared department meetings. I'm going to put everyone and everything that chick is involved with under a microscope."
