Nose to the Grindstone (open to science people or kidnapping notifications)

This was good. This was very good. Vincent smiled to himself as he removed the goggles he wore during final assembly of the exoskeleton he'd been working on for Stark. (He didn't need them, given his physiology, but there had been something about insurance regulations, and some comment about someone named 'Monstro' from Damage Control still wearing a hardhat.)

Well, the project he and the rest of the team had been working on. Stark had given him some stock lines about needing to learn to work as part of a team, whether or not defending the planet was involved. Not that Vincent was looking forward to admitting it, but the old man had been right. Besides not taking on all the work himself, having to explain the finer points of his designs had forced Vincent to reexamine some of the schematics and find several improvements to be made.

"Mister McDonough," Vincent addressed their first human volunteer for the prototype's testing, "Oh behalf of the company, we want to thank you again for your assistance. Are you ready to begin?"

The older man nodded, with a twinkle in his eye for some reason that Vincent couldn't quite identify, and extended his hand. It was palsied. Two of Vincent's teammates helped slip the exoskeleton in place over it. It was slightly bulky, and more than a little garish, but all the initial tests had been positive so far.

A job with R&D is what he offered her first before he got into what he really wanted from her. It was the bait because he knew that she couldn't say no to playing with shiny and expensive Stark Industries prototype technology. And he was 100% right.

Today she was going to play mere observer, meeting the other scientists, getting an idea about what they were working on. Like with the kids, she wanted to see things in action before she jumped in to play.

Kitty came upon Vincent's team as they were beginning to give a test run to an exoskeleton. It looked promising, she thought.

Vincent gives the new arrival a brief nod, before returning his attention to his team's activities. Their test subject seemed to have a basic, if sluggish, level of mobility with exoskeleton. One of the other techs explained that a less obvious structure, along with greater proficiency, would come later.

Well... this will be something to show Stark, he supposes. And he'll be able to tell Audhild he had a good day at work.

"What's the plan for a test drive today? Taking it for a walk or just going to be getting acclimated to it?" She was taking notes about the design of the exoskeleton and also did a thumbnail sketch of it, labeling the different features. "What kind of energy source does it support?"

"Rechargeable lithium cells, with kinetic energy loss prevention to extend their lifespan." Vincent explains, pointing to the bulkier sections of the structure. "We're going to ask Mr Mcdunough to perform some basic tasks. Die-rolling, writing his name, and the like."

And she's nodding as she is writing. "And what is the average length of duration of use for the exoskeleton?" She smiles. "So fine motor dexterity tests today. That's a good start."

"The goal is to eventually have it capable of being used for a full day. It's not as comfortable as we'd like, so in most cases it'll be taken off at night. We might be able to redesign the materials down the line, but this is the first run at it."
