[Godstorm] Riding Out the Storm
The Godstorm came at New York City, gathering other storms nearby to it. It wanted power Thor's little hammer couldn't easily undo. The Godstorm had underestimated the god once. If he showed up again, he would be ready. His reach was expansive. All along the Atlantic Coast, they felt his raging wrath. Even glancing touches from his circulating clouds brought damage.
There was warning he was coming, but Godstorm cared not one whit. He want right toward the harbor, using its funneling effect and the high tides from the moon to shove torrents of water into the megalopolis. He pushed on shore, making his way inland.
He was looking for something. Not that the small people trying to survive the hurricane coming ashore knew that. Their survival was not even a concern. He just pushed on land and spread his reach. He pushed his storm inland and the requisite flooding came with it. The winds howled and shards of glass broke off skyscrapers and added sharp damage to the mayhem.

"Alistaire, you do realize I'm not abandoning them right?" She asked after a moment or two calming the frightened patients, though she did cross to him, hugging him tightly glad to see him and his men. "Thank you."1

"I won't allow you to do it." He slipped his own arms around her, pressing his body to hers.

She knew she had enough supplies for a week tops, it wasn't the first flood she'd been in, hurricane yes, but she was treating it like she would a tsunami. "We're in a packed area, with luck, the taller buildings should lessen the winds right? We'll be safe here. Probably as safe as the penthouse."

It depends on how secure those buildings are. It's not how much the wind is blowing, it's what the wind is blowing. Glass or mortar starts falling and this place becomes a casualty that the media never even blinks at."

"Then if you can think of a way to get my thirty patients to safety by all means we'll go, but the hospitals will be filled soon, people panic. We're also in the center of the building, glass and stone will have to go through the outer offices." She was keeping her voice down so that they weren't overheard. "Best to sit out the worst here, when the city gets to the eye, if time, we'll all move. And you can make sure I do not over do it."

And more permissive dress codes than the usual American conservativism." His hold on her tightens again, his eyes glinting like a predator's teeth.

"Would be fun."
