[Godstorm] Riding Out the Storm

The Godstorm came at New York City, gathering other storms nearby to it. It wanted power Thor's little hammer couldn't easily undo. The Godstorm had underestimated the god once. If he showed up again, he would be ready. His reach was expansive. All along the Atlantic Coast, they felt his raging wrath. Even glancing touches from his circulating clouds brought damage.

There was warning he was coming, but Godstorm cared not one whit. He want right toward the harbor, using its funneling effect and the high tides from the moon to shove torrents of water into the megalopolis. He pushed on shore, making his way inland.

He was looking for something. Not that the small people trying to survive the hurricane coming ashore knew that. Their survival was not even a concern. He just pushed on land and spread his reach. He pushed his storm inland and the requisite flooding came with it. The winds howled and shards of glass broke off skyscrapers and added sharp damage to the mayhem.

"Well sorry I'm feeling caged that's all. Stupid storm." She grumbled. "Why couldn't be a blizzard instead? At least that way it gives us a bit more snow to play in. Rain's only good for puddles for like an hour."

"I hear ya. I'm about ta go stir crazy myself."

"It'll be okay though right? New York was being evacuated, they had enough time?" She was worried about the people she had met at the shelter, and everyone else, After all the friends she had memories of had to be based on someone there right? Even if they were implanted.

Rose looked down. "I'm sure lots of people made it out," she said, after a moment. "But lots of other people... got no where ta go or no way ta get out. People'll do what they can, but it ain't gonna be pretty when all this is over."

She bit her lip a moment nodding to Rose actually glad that Rose wasn't sugar coating things.

"Means when it's over we can go help rebuild right?" She moved in giving her roommate a hug.

Ngh. Touching.

Rose, nevertheless, have Bobbi a hug.

"We'll do whatever we can, Feathers."

Bobbi let her go. "I think I'm going to go attempt to work on some sketches, try to get my mind off things. Maybe I can get one done before needing to roam around again. Wouldn't be so bad if I weighed more. Downside of the feathers I guess."

Rose grinned. "Or," she said, "I could teach ya to play poker."

There was an almost evil look in Bobbi's eyes at that. "You do know both my dads are decent at that right? And I'm a prankster like my namesake. Pretty sure I have a good straight face."

In other words, she's game!

"And ya do remember who my Pops is, right?" Rose said with a wink. "C'mon. Let's get ta learnin'."

"And really, They thought it was good to put us together?" She giggled as she nodded. "We should get snacks first."

Rose laughed. "Excellent idea. What were you thinkin'?"

Bobbi thought a moment. "Chips and salsa? Maybe cheese dip?"

"Works fer me."

[iced_cherub]

"Maybe we should get some cookies too. We going to play in our dorm room?"

[wild_child]

Rose made a face. "Cookies?" she said. "You know how much sugar's in those?"

"You're saying it like that's a bad thing." She grinned at her. "Besides, it's good for growing kids, why else would they put so much of it in the better tasting cereal."
