welcome back to Japan
The storage room was exactly as she had left it the night she had been released from her grandfather. Looking at the medical table across the room from where she currently stood she reached over absentmindedly rubbing one wrist, the scars there were unnoticeable, at least. Her father had done all he could to hide most of the scars she knew she had with his healing. The physical part of her childhood was erased from sight even if the mental were still there.
Closing her eyes a moment she willed herself to go past the table to where her weapons were kept. The detective that had been in charge of things had promised the Yumi would still be in the locker on the other side of the room, as well as the rest of her gear. She knew that she could easily get new gear, they had promised to supply her with whatever she wanted as long as she stayed true to helping them with their new group.
The bow was lying flat on the shelf she had left it, a reed woven quiver hanging on the hook under it. The bracers with her knives on another shelf.
Ashley, promise me you'll never take another life, Sel's voice whispered in the back of her mind as she touched the bow.
"I won't take another life of an innocent. I promised you that Sel, this isn't the same as before." She whispered, her hand going to the ring that she wore around her neck. "I won't turn back into that monster you saved me from." She grabbed the long bow letting go of the ring.
She heard footsteps trying to be silent behind her. The security she knew were keeping tabs on her had probably gotten tired of waiting, or they had called in someone to check on her. Grabbing the quiver she pulled it over her shoulder taking her time to gather up the weapons. "I know you're there. It's rude ta' hide in the shadows." She kept to English for now, she wanted to see how long she could pass as a foreigner.

Ryosai was pretty terrible at translating it in conversation (at least in her opinion) but she could still pick it up easily even with the funny accent.
"Well I didn't want to disturb you." Ashley had seemed to be taking her sweet time and Ryosai had no problem speaking English if she needed to. Too bad it's also accented.

"I thank you for that. Guess I needed some time to put myself together." She took a better look at the girl. "A kitsune? I thought your kind stayed away from cities." The last bit she switched to Japanese figuring it would be easier. She couldn't be mean to magical beings after all, her hand touched the chain around her neck to remind herself why.

"Only half." She flashes a grin. "And lets just say we go where we please."

"Because if they were worried I'd come out shooting they really need a life."

She flashes Rei a grin. "Agent Goto. You're going to be working with me. Thought I'd say hi."
no subject
"Agent Ta... Yavie. Pleased to meet you." She was used to hearing her father's name now, it had a cleaner feel to it so it would work for her instead of the tarnished name. "So, how many agents did they have waiting out there? I kind of ditched security on arrival." She gave a faint grin. "After all I do not need the babysitters for my protection."

Ryosai could see that she just offers a smirk. "You'll fit in just fine. Amiko-san has high hopes for you."

"Then guess I shouldn't mess things up by being any later than I already am? I have what I needed anyway. I can pick up the rest after checking in."
no subject
"Well.... If you need anything else we can make a side trip," she offers. "Shopping trips can be fun. Amiko-san can be a bit forgiving."

"You'll have other places in Japan to make happier memories," Ryosai assures her kindly.
"If you need anything Rei-san you only need ask."

"Right now, just want to get settled in at HQ and see how far behind with formal classes I'll be. After all thirty hours in the air can take a lot out of someone." She stretched a little walking over the stepping stones instead of the bridge, all out of habit. "Though I don't know, stopping for ramen would be nice, haven't had the real stuff in a few years. Are you hungry?"

"Come on, if the place is still here I know of one that has really good Ramen, this early they'd still be serving sushimi too."
