Going "Home" Again

Sean had never been crazy about planes. Then again he'd never been crazy about heights period. He probably would have driven if it were more practical. Frankly he was glad to finally be on solid ground again. He had to admit he had some butterflies in his stomach after being gone for so long from the institute. Not the X-Man part, that had to be done as far as he was concerned. The part about seeing all the familiar faces he hadn't seen in..sheesh, how many years had it been? Eh, no point in ruminating. He made his way, trying not to get impatient at the disembarking line.

"Yeah, well, lots more students these days," Rose said.

"On the other hand, lots mores places to hide when you do something dumb and I have to chase you."

"I can imagine."

He gave a dismissive sound at her latter statement. "Like it would last that long before you found every spot. Last time I had to actually hide in town>"

Rose chuckled as she pulled into the garage. "That was a fun day. You almost lost me with all those cologne samples."

"Would have worked longer if the manager hadn't thrown me out for "loitering"," he grumbled in reply.

"Them's the breaks in "Catch the Hunk"," Rose said, as she put the car into park in one of the empty spaces.

"How ever will I cope?" He deadpanned.

"Oh, I can recommend a way or two..."

He smirked. "Something to look forward to."

[wild_child]

"Later," Rose agreed. "We'll get ya settled in first, deal with any of the riffraff first."

He raised an eyebrow. "What kind of riffraff?"

[wild_child]

"Just the usual gang of jokers. Feathers, Shake 'n' Bake, Fred, English, all them. Folks you ain't met before."

Rose led the way up to the Mansion from the garage.

Sounds interesting. Meeting new people usually is."

Bobbi came out of the doors with her soccer ball. Though she paused seeing Rose with a stranger.

"Okay, was wondering where you headed off to." Though she did look at Sean, "New student?"

"Old one," Rose said. "Irish here used to go here off and on."

Either this was Feathers or there was a giant bird in the mansion..which wouldn't be so far-fetched come to think of it. He extended a hand. "My name's Sean," he said with a smile.

She smiled back, shaking his hand. "Bobbi, and you might want to use the other door around the side." Her hand's a lot cooler than you'd think a person's should be. Someone was having a little fun, and who would have thought you could fill a hallway with two cups of frozen water.

One of the wings shifted a little, they're real, and really part of her. "Welcome back."

Rose rolled her eyes exaggeratedly. "...Really, Feathers? Ain't ya worried about Professor Red findin' out?"

Considering his own actions growing up at the school, he really had no place to weigh in on this.

"I'll keep that in mind," he said, trying to keep neutral.

"She probably already knows, and really, I was careful, it's not a sheet of ice so no one is going to slip on it." She grinned. I save pranks like that for people I don't like or people I know won't really get hurt if they fall."

"Your funeral, Feathers," Rose said. "Anything interesting happen while I was out?"

"Pranks with powers? I see not much has changed around here," he joked.

"Oh please I'm not going to get killed." She smirked at Rose. "Besides, a little water's not going to hurt anyone."

"So, Sean, what's yours? I mean you see the feathers, and well know about the ice now. Or that some top secret thing?"

Rose grinned a little. "Yer trouble after my own heart, Feathers."

"Heh, no real secret about it, Bobbi. My folks are Warpath and Siryn from back on X-Force. My powers are a little similar to there's, but different. I'm not superhuman, but I'm naturally in peak physical shape. Like Mom and Grandpa I have a sonic scream, albeit it's not as versatile as theirs are, but as pure concussive force it's stronger than either of them. Can't really demonstrate in here..took out a wall once that way."

"Of course I am Rose. You'd hate it if I was boring and dull." She grinned. "Though our room wouldn't be half cutesy with all my penguins."

"Okay yeah, I don't think that would be as fun as a blizzard in the lobby. Though remind me not to get into a yelling match with you at any time. I mean not that I do that, usually it's others yelling at me as I'm darting away because of something. Almost wishing that I was a bit faster though. These wings are made for falling with style, not actually flying."
