Ah. The old hidden box of chocolates. He always fell for that on Valentine's Day. Usually because he wasn't paying attention that it was Valentine's Day.

"Just part?" He raised an eyebrow as he kept an eager Scottie from getting to his box of chocolates. It was his sugar! No one, person or beast, would stop him from the complete sugar rush later!

"Just part," she told him.

She took a breath. Oh, God, let her have done the right thing here.

"So... Ah was talkin' to Sara's boyfriend, Bruce, and it turns out his daddy knows a lot of people in the music business... And it turns out one of those guys knows a band that's lookin' for a drummer on account of their old one droppin' out, and they're kinda local... And... Ah gave him one of your tapes..."

Deep breath. Deep breath.

"If you want a shot... they'd like to hear you."

"You... I... wha?" Aiden blinked at Angel. He was trying real hard to process what she said and not take it to his Mojoworlder extremes.

And since he was focused on thinking, Cedric nearly got the box of chocolates out of his hands.

"Ah... Ah got you an audition..." she tried.

Aiden put a hand on Cedric's head to keep the small dog from the chocolates.

"You... you..." A smile slowly cracked through the astonishment. "You're wonderful."

The chocolates were tossed on some table in the room. He wasn't paying attention to exactly where. He was busy pouncing on Angel. From around two inches away.

Angel wrapped her arms and tail around him and kissed him, relief flooding through her.

She hadn't seen him quite this happy in some time. It was good to see again.

Aiden was far from relieved. He was excited and very much kissing Angel for everything he was worth.

Even if Cedric was pawing his butt because he seemed to be attacking Mommy.

And cue headache. Because now he had to tell Hana that the boys had motor bikes meant for teenagers and there would be no way to keep them off the things once they figured out they had to build them.

He'd let her write the thank you notes because he'd be busy keeping Rose, and Dad, off his new project.

Valentine's Day was kind of special for him. It marked the day of his first official date with Hana. There would be dinner and dancing, chocolates and flowers, and something pink. Maybe pink leather. She loved leather and pink.

And breakfast in bed. He and the boys handled that. He gave them each something to carry upstairs, Zack the chocolate cookies, Jeremy the chocolate chip muffin, (because everything else would make a mess if they dropped it), and served their best girl a delicious breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and lots of milk.

The mini lecture he gave them during the process had to do with always taking care of your best girl and everything else would work itself out.

Alexa had been nervous about Valentine's Day since the epic fail of telling Remi she loved him. That hadn't gone over well and the idea of just how badly she might bungle a love-based holiday made her green more often than the morning sickness did. Now that the day had arrived, though, she found herself doing better than expected. She was also fairly organized and had Remi's gift ready well in advance: all of the supplies to take care of his salt water tank as well as a component he'd wanted for some time. She'd even managed to find some candied sea urchins for him, a delicacy he'd mentioned in passing that he enjoyed.

The card, however, was a surprise. She had it sitting on her lap as she waited for him to show up.

Remi checked for the fifth time: fresh flowers, non-melting chocolate, carefully picked out card, and a bulge in his pocket that was actually a boxed gift. He took in a deep breath and went to go shower Alexa with holiday affection.

He hoped.

"Bonzou, mo copine!" He tried for an easy grin. Though he wasn't sure his nerves would let him.

"Hi, handsome. Is that bulge in your pocket a present or a present?

When all else failed an eyebrow waggle and innuendo would cover for nerves, right?

He shuffled the flowers, card, and box of chocolatey science fun out of the way and glanced down.

"If it were a present, you'd think it'd be bigger, no?" He shrugged, and his grin became a little more natural. Rather than juggle her presents some more, he offered them to her.

Except for the one in his pocket. He didn't think today was the day of pushing his pelvis toward her face.

"It usually is," she grinned and took the flowers, card, and scientific chocolate.

"Flowers and chocolate? I'm spoiled." She sniffed the flowers and her smile widened. They were beautiful and fragrant, but she was quickly distracted by the chocolate test tubes, tweezers, and assorted other tools.

"Oh Remi...these are amazing!"

Once he was unladen of most of his gifts, his hand went into his pocket to get ready to pull out the non-emphasized present.

"The chocolate is promised to not go awry and cause explosions, injuries, or the occasional superpower origin. But it is supposed to be very delicious." It certainly tasted better than anything he could get back home.

"Chocolate is its own super power. I could devour this all right now, but I think I'll wait. I have to give you your presents before I over indulge." She arched a brow when he want for the other present.

He shifted a little nervously. Then he decided he should stop trying to kill himself with worry and just give her the present already. He slowly pulled out the oblong package and offered it to Alexa.

Inside was a golden locket with a peacock on it. There were small sapphires, emeralds, and rubies accenting the showing plumage. He was happy it had cleaned up nicely and not lost any of its stones.

"I... uh, kinda cheated getting it. But apparently no one on this world has found that shipwreck so..."

Alexa's jaw hung open when she opened the package and for a long moment she simply stared at it. It was obviously old and obviously precious, but when Remi mentioned that it was a shipwreck find and one that seemed to be the same in both their worlds the monetary value or that it was an amazing piece of jewelry meant nothing to her.

It was priceless. It was, to her, something shared.

"Remi...this is extraordinary," she whispered then hug-attacked him. "This is the best gift ever..."

As Alexa spent a long moment just staring at it, Remi shifted nervously. Was that a good agape or a bad one?

His answer came in a whisper before a hug-attack. He relaxed a bit in her arms. "Oof. You're welcome, gorgeous."

He gave her a hug back. "It's a locket, so you can put something inside. Like pictures or a tiny holographic display or something."

Valentine's Day was quickly taking over from Christmas as her favorite holiday of the year. She'd had her chocolates already purchased to send to all the men in her life, as per tradition, but since she was with an American guy, she also got to look forward to a little pampering on the day, as well. It was the best of both worlds.

In fact, she got not one, but three good looking guys pampering her this morning. Hana greeting them with a dazzling smile and pure delight when they delivered her breakfast. "Wow! You guys have been busy this morning."

Sammy's appreciation was more than enough for him. Not that he'd say no to those brownies. And their accommodations for the night included a yard large enough to support a visit from Aether, so Sammy got to spend as much time as she liked with both of her guys.

"Ready to ship us back to the UK yet?" He asked pleasantly as he watched her feed sugar cubs to his preening horse.

"I think a holographic display would take away from how beautiful this is. It's really exquisite, Remi. I think I will put real pictures in it."

She gently let him go and looked up at him.

"Now it's time for your present. I hope you don't get terribly mad at me."

He shrugged slightly. It was her necklace now, she could do what she wanted with it. Though he did have to quirk an eyebrow at the thought of getting mad over a present.

"Unless you're springing a Richards on me, I don't think presents work that way..."

"They could when they involve your tank."

"You filled it with strangely clear and salty tapioca?" He wasn't quite sure where this was going.
