Valentine's Day ((Open))
It was February 14th. And all across New York (and a little bit of New Jersey) superheroes had to deal with someone somewhere wanting them to:

no subject
Getting things together for the day had been a task. He had gone to a floral shop and used some of his charisma to get a lot of help from a florist. And her number without trying. (Which he got rid of once he was out of view of the store.) So, he had a small mixed bouquet in hand when he went to a recommended chocolatier to pick up his custom order of chocolate science tools.
Despite dating what he caught the drift as a woman in line to be one of the richest in the world, Remi was running low on his own money. A considerable amount of what he earned from the Foundation was spent on feeding himself and taking care of his salt water tank. So, he had to be a little more aquatic about how he got her non-perishable gift. He had spent every moment he could trying to find a shipwreck he remembered from his own world. Though without the planet's land masses be rearranged, it took him longer to find it than he liked.
Thankfully, the wreck still existed on this world. He did not find the necklace on the sunken Spanish ship he had hoped for, but he found one that was suitable.
The last thing was the card. He spent an inordinate amount of time on finding the one worded just right. While Alexa had dropped the l-bomb on him, he had not been quite sure it was genuine. Especially since it sort of came out like a forced reason to not have her father kill him with orbital lasers. The Atlantean prince did feel something for Alexa, but he was extremely uncertain what it was. He had never felt anything like it. He did not want to put the wrong word to it.
Love was very loaded to him. If he said it, he needed to really mean it. Though his inner musings were jumbled, he just needed to make sure he did this Valentine's Day in a relationship thing correctly. He settled on a card saying 'Be Mine.'

The card, however, was a surprise. She had it sitting on her lap as she waited for him to show up.

He hoped.
"Bonzou, mo copine!" He tried for an easy grin. Though he wasn't sure his nerves would let him.
no subject
When all else failed an eyebrow waggle and innuendo would cover for nerves, right?

"If it were a present, you'd think it'd be bigger, no?" He shrugged, and his grin became a little more natural. Rather than juggle her presents some more, he offered them to her.
Except for the one in his pocket. He didn't think today was the day of pushing his pelvis toward her face.

"Flowers and chocolate? I'm spoiled." She sniffed the flowers and her smile widened. They were beautiful and fragrant, but she was quickly distracted by the chocolate test tubes, tweezers, and assorted other tools.
"Oh Remi...these are amazing!"
no subject
"The chocolate is promised to not go awry and cause explosions, injuries, or the occasional superpower origin. But it is supposed to be very delicious." It certainly tasted better than anything he could get back home.

Inside was a golden locket with a peacock on it. There were small sapphires, emeralds, and rubies accenting the showing plumage. He was happy it had cleaned up nicely and not lost any of its stones.
"I... uh, kinda cheated getting it. But apparently no one on this world has found that shipwreck so..."
no subject
It was priceless. It was, to her, something shared.
"Remi...this is extraordinary," she whispered then hug-attacked him. "This is the best gift ever..."
no subject
His answer came in a whisper before a hug-attack. He relaxed a bit in her arms. "Oof. You're welcome, gorgeous."
He gave her a hug back. "It's a locket, so you can put something inside. Like pictures or a tiny holographic display or something."
no subject
She gently let him go and looked up at him.
"Now it's time for your present. I hope you don't get terribly mad at me."
no subject
"Unless you're springing a Richards on me, I don't think presents work that way..."

She took him by the hand and lead him towards the room where his tank lived then stepped aside so he could see. She had entirely upgraded the tank. Any items on his tank wishlist had been purchased as were supplies to keep everything perfect.
And a rubber ducky.
no subject
He ran through the interesting yet hard to breathe substances in his head as he was lead to his bedroom. Well bed and tank room. It was hard to sleep in the tank if Alexa was in the same room.
He blinked at his upgraded tank and the supplies. Remi let go of Alexa's hand to inspect it. It definitely looked... sleeker than what he had coddled together. Obviously the work of Alexa.
He poked at the rubber ducky and watched it float and bob. "Hmm. Definitely better than clear, salty tapioca," he admitted with a slight grin.

"And pudding is nice to eat, not breathe."

He scratched his ear. His brow furrowed a bit. He had never really mentioned what the rift between him and his dimensional half-sister was. Remi cleared his throat. "Thank you for the gift. I'll go in the tank naked for you."

"Right now? It's probably good for the baby for you to hop in the tank with me."

He staggered back as he struggled to get free. Hitting the tank threw off his balance even more. He hit the floor with an "wonlph."
