Attack on New York (All US teams on deck!)

The Avengers will arrive in Time's Square in short order. They will see Frost Giants moving out quickly. There are a few standing guard over something but there is nice and snow shooting up into the air so it isn't obvious right away that it is the Cask of Winter.

But there are many Frost Giants gathered here. It is an invading army.

Ryan grinned at Mary, letting out a laugh despite the fighting going on around them. "Splitting headache. Love it," he said, before charging his way at the giants as well. He went for the one on the right of the three, volleying blasts of cosmic energy at various parts of the giant's body, with no particular pattern in mind. Make it harder for the giant to avoid and all that.

"....She is so cute and made of violence. I love it," Griffin says a little too cheerfully.

Be glad he is on your side guys. Suddenly he bounces and flies up hitting a giant right in the jaw!

The combination of Griffin bouncing at the Giant's face and Jacob hitting him forces the giant to one knee. In a rage he reaches to grab at Jacob. He will try pitching him.

But suddenly there is fire and ow and oh the pain!

The lead giant is injured by Remi and Mary.

The third giant avoids some damage and throws some kind of big jar at Ryan.

Remi continued to press forward on the giant he and Mary injured. He was not going to stop until the giant was down.

"Cover Ryan! He's got ... what the hell is that? Coming at him."

Mary kept the three-headed dragon form. She'd pay for it later--splitting up her brain three ways like this took a lot of concentration--but it was worth it for the tactical advantage.

She fired a triple-breath of flame at the jar.

Whoops. That isn't supposed to happen!

Jacob yelps and is thrown into a nearby building. As he struggles to get to his feet in the wreckage, he mutters dizzily, "Yeah, I'll get right on that..."

Ryan had no idea what the hell the thing was that they'd thrown at him. While Mary blasted it with fire, Ryan threw up a shield of energy in front of him.

"Wait we don't know what's in it! Fire could be bad!" As a scientist Griffin knows the answer isn't always fire.

This could end very poorly.

Griffin was right. One of the Giants jumps back as the jar is shattered buy fire and when the substance hits flames it turns into an acidic cloud. The Giants don't bother fighting anymore.

They retreat quickly away from the clouds before it starts to move.

"Manzerfes!" Nothing like rapidly escalating gassy problems. At least the giants were running away. Which meant nothing good.

"Ryan, help me contain it. Somebody figure out a way to dissipate it without fire." Remi put up shields to try to catch the billowing acid cloud.

"Holy flarg!" Mary's three-heads screamed in unison.

She dropped from the sky, morphing into what looked like a giant armadillo in the process.

"God, freaking, dammit!" Ryan yelled out, cosmic energy enveloping his entire body before bursting forth from his palms. He was using all of the energy he could muster, combining his powers with Remi's to contain the cloud of...whatever it was.

The fact that the Frost Giants were running wasn't really filling him with confidence.

"Mary, can you move fast? Get us to the nearest construction site and find as much dry cement mix as we can?" Jacob could carry the stuff, but moving fast wasn't his forte. The calcium carbonate in the cement mix should neutralize the acid if they could dump it over the contained cloud. At least, he hoped so.

"Do what Jacob says," Griffin says as he calculates the amount they may need. "Get as much as you can carry. It should smother it nicely too. We can pay back the company later when we're not fighting Frost Giants."

"Got it," Mary said, transforming into a giant pterodactyl like creature. She grabbed Jacob with her talons and took off as quickly as she could.

There was a construction site close enough.

Remi's brow furrowed as concentrated on containing the gas. He knew the rest of the team could come up with a way to get rid of the acidic gas. He just had to hold his shields together under the attack of corrosion.

Ryan concentrated as well, his brow furrowed. There was a little bit of sweat dripping from his forehead as he backed Remi up, throwing his powers over Remi's, so that if Remi lost concentration, at least Ryan's shields were there to hold the acidic gas stuff in.

That was the benefit of a one-track mind, really. You threw all of your everything into one thing.

It would be undignified and unprofessional to say Wheeeeeee right now, so he didn't. Instead, he concentrated on looking the city over for a likely target.

"There!" He called to Mary, pointing to a construction site. They were still pouring foundations, so they should have plenty of cement on hand.

Griffin is making a few more calculations. He knows once they get the cement they need to put a little bit of pressure to make sure to trap the acid.

That should be easy enough.

Mary swooped down toward the construction site, letting Jacob down before she landed.

"Cement mixer... cement mixer... where's the blasted cement mixer..."

It didn't take long to find what they needed. Jacob could carry several of the large bags and he figured Mary could, too. They should be able to bring enough. Man, he sure hoped they could.

Hefting the bags, he looked over at Mary. "Ready?"

Ryan was certainly ready. The brightness of cosmic energy that surrounded his body was starting to wane, and the sparkles were getting...less sparkly.

Remi glanced at his back-up getting less bri-...sparkly. He was going to have a pounding headache himself soon. His shields would falter if he had to start fighting off pain.

"Hurry up on the cement," he ordered through the communicator. "This stuff is eating away at my shields and Ryan's overextended himself a bit."

Mary changed shape again, turning into something with wings and tentacles and big enough to carry Jacob and several large bags.

Once they were situated, she flew.
