Settling In (Open to X-ers)
Brianna sat on the south lawn in yoga pants and a tank top in the lotus position, counting her breaths as she cycled through several breathing exercises at the end of her meditations. She'd been back at Xavier's for a couple of days now and she was settling in all right. Mom and Dad seemed to be having a good time back home, though she knew her father would want to get out on the road again as soon as possible.
She felt herself return to alertness and opened her eyes as if seeing the world anew for the first time. Her meditations always renewed her spirt and her mind and she was ready to take on the new day.
Standing in one smooth motion, Brianna LeBeau began tehe first of several katas, taking up an open fighting stance and working through encountering her foe, engaging and finally, dispatching that foe before beginning the next kata.
Re: After Breakfast
"How long have you been here at the school, Pete?" Brianna asked.
Re: After Breakfast
Re: After Breakfast
"About a year. And no thank you," he answered in turn. Pete shifted a bit on the couch, being careful not to encroach on personal space. He never knew which mutant had the power to turn him to stone, suck him dry, or cook him like bacon by looking at them.
Re: After Breakfast
Brianna looked at the TV and sighed. It was happening again.
"Well that's cool. I was here a lot when I was younger but I just got back. Besides waking up on the right side of the bed, how has your day gone so far?" Brianna asked him.

Re: After Breakfast
He licked his dry-feeling lips as he tried to remember what he was asked. It took him a moment to remember it was about his day. "Kinda odd, actually. I'm not used to having time before sessions. I usually just get to ride shotgun until then."
Re: After Breakfast
And then the TV abruptly cut off.
"Yeah, that was my fault. My power causes chaos with electronics sometimes. Nothing explodes but things suddenly become a little less reliable in my presence. Usually I can get an entire episode in before things get unfortunate, though." Brianna said.
"When you say 'ride shotgun', what do you mean?" she asked, curious at that choice of words.

Re: After Breakfast
"I... have no idea who Brooke is."
Re: After Breakfast
"I don't even know who this Brooke person is but the little I've heard about her isn't very flattering." Brianna said. "But I won't tell anyone about the pipes. Just give a girl some warning, okay?"
When Pete mentioned that a turtle was usually in control, though, Brianna's expression darkened a bit.
"Wait...that insulting bloke who can't speak English...that was you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "His name was Athos, right? He wasn't very nice."
Re: After Breakfast
She goes silent. "You know now I see why you flinched. I'll be careful when it comes to sparring them. I wouldn't want to hurt you too."
Re: After Breakfast
"That wasn't me. That was Athos. Two different... things. And I have no idea what he said, so I don't know if it was insulting."
Re: After Breakfast
"So he's you but he's not you?" she asked, a little confused. Pete seemed cool but if he had multiple personalities, she needed to understand what was going on in case she ran into Athos again.
Re: After Breakfast
"All the turtles take over my body when they want to come out. I can observe what they're doing, but I can't do anything to change their actions." He glanced toward both girls to see if they were starting to scoot away from him.
Re: After Breakfast
Wait. Did he say turtles? As in plural?
"Um...how many turtles are there, curiously?" she asked.
Re: After Breakfast
Re: After Breakfast
"It does suck," he agreed with Bobbi," but I can't control it. I have to take it for what it is. And there's four of them. That I know about. I don't know if anymore slip out while I sleep."

Re: After Breakfast
"It's been like this since..." - he turned into a monstrous freak of nature - "... I manifested. Before I came to this school."
Re: After Breakfast
"Everyone has it tough, Pete. But you seem like a decent chap. Do you all have a schedule worked out on who gets out when or is it really just luck of the draw for the day?" she asked.
