Fortunately for Dawn Roberts, the word had continued to mostly make sense in the days and time since she and several others had fought off a demonic invasion of Manhattan.  She still wasn't entirely certain what that had been all about, and was only certain that it was over, and had filed much of the rest under things she had preferred not to think about.

Had this been a comic book, surely one of them would have suggested that they form a team after their shared adventure.  But they hadn't, by and large, been the kind of people likely to do that.  A few of them had swapped phone numbers and e-mails and the like.  Dawn would have just wanted it all to be over and forget about it, if not for the fact that she was increasingly concerned about her own sanity.  That and the one woman had referred to her as "Valkyrie."  That had implied she'd known... something?   Dawn had taken a phone number.  She might work up the courage to call.

Maybe.

The dreams were getting worse.  Blood and death and swords and monsters and warriors and...

She sipped her coffee.  The place wasn't far from the library where she worked.  She came there often after work.  At least coffee still made sense.
