Mira bit her lip as she stopped the bike, looking at the building that resided at the address she had gotten. This is stupid I shouldn't still be in New York I should have left already. She thought as she touched the band strapped to her wrist.
"Right, only one way to get this done." Mira slid off the bike, leaving it in that mode, wouldn't do to start a war with the people she wanted as allies because of a misunderstanding. Hitting the com button she waited until someone answered.

Nicky had been in the Mansion's expansive library, relaxing with a book when someone called in on the comm.
He was the first to answer, and answering the comm was not something he usually did, as was evident by his greeting.
"Er. Hello?"

"Yes, I'm Mira Greson, I should have called ahead, but well... Not like the line's listed and," She noticed she was rambling and bit her lip a moment. "I would rather let you guys keep an eye on something than me, I'm tired of getting attacked because of it."

Then again, she'd given her name. That was something, right? Most people who were going to attack didn't give a name. They gave a codename, like Kang the Conqueror or Madame Hydra or something.
"There's an eight-hundred number," Nicky said after a long pause. "I believe." That wasn't him being rude, he was just thinking outloud. "You're being attacked, you say?" Okay, that sounded bad. "One moment."
Mira would hear the electric zing of a buzz before the door next to the wide gates opened to let her in.
Nicky, meanwhile, went straight to the door to greet her.

At least they'll think twice on attacking, even if the guys are idiots I doubt they'd do anything near here. She watched the man as he walked towards her, Mira stopped walking. She tugged the sleeve of her jacket over the cuff on her wrist more.

Nicky waved at the woman as he made his way down the path towards her. He was dressed casually - blue jeans, white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up - and he seemed unassuming, even if there was a certain toughness to his gait.
He noted her tugging the sleeve of her jacket and took it in stride. He pay more attention to that later, figure out what it was about.
"Welcome to Avengers Mansion," Nicky said with a smile, looking past Mira to make sure she wasn't being followed. The gates closed behind her and nothing else seemed to enter.
Good.
"I'm Nicky. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said, holding out his hand. He was, after all, nothing if not polite.

Realizing she was rambling she looked down toying at the cuff of her sleeve again with her free hand. The mini computer had been annoying her all day.

Once they were inside Avengers Mansion, Nicky quickly alerted Jarvis as to the need of some refreshments to be brought to the parlor where Avengers entertained guests of the unfamiliar variety.
"You keep indicating that someone is following you, Miss Greson," Nicky said, once they were comfortably seated. "Or, rather, a group of people. What's going on?"

As Jarvis set the food down, Nicky stared at the white band for a long moment before looking up to meet Mira's eyes again. "This project...was it a government project? SHIELD? AIM? Someone else?" If the Avengers were going to help out, they needed a place to start investigating. "I assume that this database you're speaking of is somehow linked to that band on your wrist."
no subject
"Government project." She tried to remember all the details. "No wait joint project with private sector and the military. It wasn't S.H.E.I.L.D. I probably would have been picked up before I made it this far if it was. The project was out near Mirror Lake." She nodded. "It's a minicomputer, and the database that it has in it are incomplete, mostly it just has the programming to run the bike."

"I assume these were weapons of mass destruction?"

"A lot of this is history, which I'm still going through but..." She found the vid that was in the computer that she wanted and activated it. "Apparently this was a test run on some asteroid." She let the vid play, showing that it took time to power up the weapon, but when it was used the rock was completely destroyed. "That's what I saw when I made the choice to run with the bike. If they could figure it out... I'd rather not see this in action."
no subject
"Is there a way for you to transfer that video to me? I think that some of the more tech-savvy Avengers might want to take a look at that." He paused and considered something for a moment. "You don't need to worry, by the way. You'll have the Avengers help in regards to this matter. I can assure you of that."

She seemed to think that over a moment. "Would probably be better than trying to run again. Thank you." She chewed her lip a moment.
