White Day ((Open to New Mutants))
Exactly a month after Valentine's Day came White Day. This year Aiden could not do some of his typical things as Angel was mending from being attacked by anti-mutant bigots. He also couldn't do as much as he used to because he spent quite a bit of time invisibly stalking her attackers and making their lives miserable.
Though he still had things together for White Day. He also had some small boxes of 'obligation' chocolate for his roommates as usual. Though Valeria's was in the freezer until she came back (and he fully believed she would.) He thought that would be appreciated more than leaving it in her lab.
He let Angel sleep in as he worked in the kitchen making a large Southern breakfast from all the recipes he had from Angel's Mom. He had more than enough to cover the other ladies in the building.
He hummed to himself as he checked on his biscuits in the oven.

"So, is it time to EMP their laptops and their phones again yet?"
She gave him a 'don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about' look.

He blinked innocently at Sara. "I don't think they have replacements yet."
While the biscuits were cooling, he turned off the burner under gravy before grabbing the two small boxes of chocolates and handing them out to the two ladies. "Happy White Day! Please enjoy sometime after breakfast..."
no subject
Sara grinned, and accepted the chocolate.
"Thank you."
She then poured herself a big mug of hot, caffeinated beverage.

He puttered around some of the fixin's. "I'm gonna take breakfast to Angel in bed, but we probably won't be locked away for the day like all the other White Days. So, what are you two up to for the day?"
no subject
"I don't know. I'm pretty much caught up on everything's that's due soon. It's too cloudy for good sunbathing, Bruce is busy until later tonight... are you sure they haven't replaced those phones yet?"
She sipped her coffee, cast a glance out of the side of her eye at Caroline and winked.
"Maybe some shopping. Or TV."

She shouldn't have provoked the confrontation like that, she knew. Should have used her powers to just teleport away or out of reach. But against bigotry like that... well... she had a temper on her, that was what it was.
She yawned and carefully stretched as she woke up. Then winced.

"Hey. Nothing strenuous. It's a nice and easy White Day for you." He walked over with a Cedric at his heels once the young dog smelled the food on the tray.

He stepped back eyed the tray. He caught the young dog by his collar before he made it on the bed. "Noooo, Cedric. That's Mama's biscuits and gravy. Maybe if you stay on the floor, you can do dishes later."
no subject
She scooped up some gravy with her biscuit, then took a bite and smiled in delight. "You done good, Sugah. Way you been feedin' me while Ah'm on the mend, Ah'm gonna need new pants."
no subject
"Also, I can give you a massage later, if you're feeling up to it."
no subject
She took another bite, closed her eyes, and grinned. "Ah do like the sound of that."
no subject
"Her food. Go lay down. You get your fill later."

Owing to the universal hardwired signal that mommy is always more important to to listen to than dad, Cedric ratcheted down his begging.
"You do that every day, Sugah, just by being here."
no subject
He looked back at Angel and let his frown disappear. "I try. Well, to do it every day. Not just being here. Though I am here a lot. When I'm not at work or at my martial arts classes."
He shrugged and grinned again.

"Though you'd never ask," he commented with a grin.
no subject
"Ah tell you today how much Ah love you, Sugah?"
More than she could possibly have said. She'd been very lucky to find a guy where the way she looked was part of the attraction, not in spite of it and not a cause for alarm instead.
no subject
"As you woke up not too long ago, nope. Not today. Unless you mean by the time you fell asleep last night, which was after midnight. But that wasn't how much..."
He shrugged and picked up the extra utensils on her tray.
no subject
"More 'an Ah got words for, Sugah. More than Ah got words."

Aiden also tried to keep his contented wiggling to mostly still.

Angel smiled. "Cain't believe sometimes how long we been together."
no subject
"Mm. Can't be forever. We're not that old yet." He grinned and stuffed more food into his mouth.
