White Day ((Open to New Mutants))

Exactly a month after Valentine's Day came White Day. This year Aiden could not do some of his typical things as Angel was mending from being attacked by anti-mutant bigots. He also couldn't do as much as he used to because he spent quite a bit of time invisibly stalking her attackers and making their lives miserable.

Though he still had things together for White Day. He also had some small boxes of 'obligation' chocolate for his roommates as usual. Though Valeria's was in the freezer until she came back (and he fully believed she would.) He thought that would be appreciated more than leaving it in her lab.

He let Angel sleep in as he worked in the kitchen making a large Southern breakfast from all the recipes he had from Angel's Mom. He had more than enough to cover the other ladies in the building.

He hummed to himself as he checked on his biscuits in the oven.

She patted the space on the bed next to her. "C'mon and join me. This is way too much food for little ol' me."

"Okay!" Aiden always loaded up Angel's breakfast in bed trays for at least two people. He scooted around the bed and slid over to sit where Angel indicated. He had tamped down the urge to jump right there, but physics lessons and yelling had taught him about reactions to him jumping on the bed with spillable objects.

"Though you'd never ask," he commented with a grin.

Angel's tail happily snaked around her a little bit.

"Ah tell you today how much Ah love you, Sugah?"

More than she could possibly have said. She'd been very lucky to find a guy where the way she looked was part of the attraction, not in spite of it and not a cause for alarm instead.

He considered her question with all due seriousness. He scratched his chin with a finger.

"As you woke up not too long ago, nope. Not today. Unless you mean by the time you fell asleep last night, which was after midnight. But that wasn't how much..."

He shrugged and picked up the extra utensils on her tray.

Angel mostly suppressed a giggle. She forgot sometimes, how Aiden thinking worked. But she loved it so.

"More 'an Ah got words for, Sugah. More than Ah got words."

"Hmm. Bigger than a dictionary. I'll take it!" He nodded in satisfaction and started cutting up some food so he could stick it into his mouth without shoving it in.

"You better," Angel told him with a playful swat on the arm.

"Well, as Mom would say, I can't return you now. You're all bro-use-uhm... made comfy just the way I like it." Word choice was not his forte. Shoving food into his mouth while trying to not look embarrassed was his forte at the moment.

Angel hid a giggle behind a bite of biscuit. Because it wouldn't do to laugh when he was being so sincere.

"Breakfast good?" he asked around a few bites of food. He had yet to have any complaints about his cooking, but he always wanted to make sure the food was just right for special days.

Aiden also tried to keep his contented wiggling to mostly still.

"Perfect," she assured him.

Angel smiled. "Cain't believe sometimes how long we been together."

He nodded happily. If she liked the food, it was what he wanted to achieve. Aiden glanced at his fiancee when she commented on how long they had been a couple.

"Mm. Can't be forever. We're not that old yet." He grinned and stuffed more food into his mouth.

"Plenty of time to find out what forever feels like then," Angel said, leaning over to kiss him.
