Who Will Defend Us?
Manhattan
Central Park
April
1:26 pm
The portal from Limbo opened easily and without triggering the wards that warned those mystically sensitive of what was happening in the city. S'ym's erstwhile ally had seen to that. Not that S'ym trusted him further than he could throw him, but he had been truthful enough in what he could provide.
Other demons, made temporarily invisible, followed him out of the portal.
"You all know S'ym's plan," he said. "Raise hell out there. Make the humans panic. The more chaos we sow, the weaker our ally makes the barrier between dimensions. And when that happens, he says this world will belong to S'ym! And what's good for S'ym is good for all of you!"
The demons began to cheer.
S'ym puffed on his cigar. "But it's gonna take all of you doin' what we do best. Killin' folks, corruptin' this world, just like we done before. Only there ain't no X-Men here to stop us this time! No little Darkchylde to ruin things! This time... this world... will... be... OURS!"
The demons flew off, ready to raise hell.

S'ym was there, waiting for the heroes, with a handful of demon soldiers. "Well, well, well, look who decided to show up on S'ym's doorstep. S'ym would feel disappointed... if he didn't have company already. You heroes are too late. The spell's finished."

He looked upon the heroes and the city, and laughed.

He mounted his bike and zoomed toward S'ym and his demons, firing blasts of hellfire from his lethal-looking handgun.

"By the All-Father!"
...Okay, where the hell did that come from?

Though he did have a question. "Do all demons refer to themselves in the third person? Or just the real ugly ones?"

Liza was talking big, but if that was really Dormammu, this wasn't going to be easy.

He unleashed a bolt of power upon them.

"Gonna kill you for that, flame head!" he growled. "Kill 'em all!"

You could release me...
Yeah, Because another power mad demon would make this so much better. Thanks, I'll do it on my own.
The Basilisk gave a throaty chuckle. As you wish. But remember, I am always here. For you.
Liza shook her head and concentrated on the battle. Minion demons. Swarming minion demons. Yeah, those she could handle. She leapt onto the back of one nearby, slashing it across the eyes with the claws in her gloves.

Looked as though this was going to be a family reunion.
She launched herself into the air, channelling her power on herself, and flew straight towards Dormammu. A dagger made of pure magic formed in her hand as she did so.

But she charged forward, something compelling her legs to move, her arms to swing her sword. "FOR ASGARRRRRRD!"

He launched himself in the air to get a better view of the battlefield and see where he could be of most use.

"That hurt!" he growled. "S'ym's gonna make you pay for that!"
He lobbed a fireball at the Rider.

"Ah, family," he said. "Always such a source of frustration. I should have killed my sister when I had the chance."
He fired a bolt of bedevilment at Sophia.

She hates the smell of fire in the air. Burning ozone and whatever the scent of demonic fire really is gets to her. The werewolf doesn't like it.
Can't say it though. No way to and besides her teeth are busy.

"Face me in single-combat, demon! Prepare for judgment." he demanded.
no subject
"Everytime you take a chance, you get knocked down again. Give it up early and go back to burning in your hell-dimension, 'Mammu."
no subject
He cursed with a heavy French accent and tried to maneuver out of the way. Or at least get some of them to crash into each other.

All things she never knew she could do, or even should be able to.
The distraction cost her, a demon striking her from behind and knocking her to her knees.
