A Charity Gala to End Whatever Important Thing

New York City high society had been absolutely buzzing over this April's charity gala by a certain Mr. Tony Stark. It was seen as exclusive, or as exclusive as his 200 person guest list could be. Some invitations were a given, like Tony's daughter Alexa, whereas others came from what the party planners figured as the right people to make the party memorable or talked about.

The charity event was for the charitable arm of Stark Inc., Stark International. Despite being for charity, it was also seen as a good way for businesses to be seen and network.

The event was held at the Hudson in the Library and Private Park space. It would comfortably fit the people into its 2,600 Square Feet.

Remi was beside his woman in her bump-showing ballgown. He was at this party as Alexa's date and not the Future Foundation representative. He was wearing a white vest over a purple shirt paired with some purple pants. Though he was sans shoes and floating an inch off the ground.

"So, are these surfacer parties any livelier than the dull ones in Atlantis where I had to behave or else?"

"Surface parties kind of suck. Unless someone gets crazy and does something nuts at them...when I was a kid I once unleashed a science experiment on a dinner party. That was fun."

Remi glanced around. He spotted Alexa's father clear on the other side of the library. He leaned closer to her ear.

"Did you bring a science experiment tonight? I won't tell where it came from."

"I did not. I figured pregnant lady cravings would probably be uproar enough. At some point I'll probably have a fit and demand something strange." She grinned.

"Huh." He raised an eyebrow. "Hopefully the fit won't be at me. I'd like to observe how high society functions around the Alexa Stark."

He decided the 'the' was one of the important words in that sentence. Though he couldn't stop smirking ever so slightly.

"I think they generally try to kiss my ass the same way they try to kiss my dad's ass."

"Hmm. I'm familiar with that." Princes got almost the same fawning a king did. Unless it was Krang's cronies, then he got the opposite.

Remi placed a hand on the small of Alexa's back. "Though I hope none of the kissing up is literal. It would not go well for the other person."

He saw a garden and a wall he could chuck them over.
