A Charity Gala to End Whatever Important Thing
New York City high society had been absolutely buzzing over this April's charity gala by a certain Mr. Tony Stark. It was seen as exclusive, or as exclusive as his 200 person guest list could be. Some invitations were a given, like Tony's daughter Alexa, whereas others came from what the party planners figured as the right people to make the party memorable or talked about.
The charity event was for the charitable arm of Stark Inc., Stark International. Despite being for charity, it was also seen as a good way for businesses to be seen and network.
The event was held at the Hudson in the Library and Private Park space. It would comfortably fit the people into its 2,600 Square Feet.

She gently lifted the hem of her hot pink and black lace gown, ensuring that she didn't rip the delicate fabric, as she walked up to the bar and ordered herself a raspberry flirtini, twirling a lock of her honey blonde hair around a perfectly manicured finger.
Ever since Joe Rogers had entered Roxie's life, the Avenger had started feeling more herself. Enough so that she'd actually reverted back to her natural blonde hair colour. It was lovely, what a little bit of Olympian magic could do for a girl's hair colour.
She smiled and turned to the party, surveying the crowd. Many were faces she hadn't seen in awhile. This was her first party since the Kreenapping, after all, and it was a Roxie with a very different mindset from before who was gracing the event. No more crazy drunken antics this time - or ever again.

And then... great. Roxie. Of course she'd be here.

Re: Library 1
Her feet needed to be comfortable after all.

"So, are these surfacer parties any livelier than the dull ones in Atlantis where I had to behave or else?"

He was on his best behavior tonight, making the rounds and drumming up funds for his latest charity venture.

All he did was smile and walk past them, not feeling inclined to engage in their inane banter or give them fuel for their idle gossip.
He entered the library and went to the bar. A drink wouldn't do anything for him but nursing a drink would make him seem human, wouldn't it?
Yes, he needed to seem human for a bit this evening.

The last time she was at a party was simply her own if she recalled. But there were so many things to remember. But bright smile, turn down a hall and well. Gone. Gone for 20 minutes before suddenly shimmering to the side of one of her father's old comrades and someone who felt just as uncomfortable as she. She knew. MIT types never liked parties without drinking and considering Mr. Stark...
"Good evening, Mr. Stark. Long time no see."

Re: Library 2
It was a grown up event, but she didn't mind, in her bag she had stuffed a sketchbook and was currently staying out of the way sketching the quartet. She shifted a little uneasily, her wings were hidden with the device she had been given, but she still felt worried about how others would react if they did get exposed. Getting up she tucked the book into her bag, and went to get a soda knowing most of the servers only had alcoholic drinks.
Re: Library 2
She walked up to the bar. "Ah'd like a mojito, please."

Library Garden
Re: Library Garden
She reached up to ensure that her updo was still in place and then gently smoothed down her beige and autumn red ballgown.
She'd texted Stephanie not five minutes ago and told her where she'd be. This would be the first time that she was meeting Stephanie's mysterious Brazilian boytoy, and Brooke wanted to make a good, elegant impression.
Given that, she drained her champagne and handed the empty flute over to the nearest waiter and waited.
Re: Library Garden
It was a fortunate thing too, because truth be told, she was not particularly enamoured with champagne. She tended to find white wines in general rather insipid.
Seeing Brooke, she smiled broadly and walked Marcelo over to her, the sight of the much smaller woman dragging along her boyfriend probably more than a little amusing.
"Brooke." Stephanie's face lit up as she got closer to her friend, exchanging the inevitable air kisses before a much more genuine hug. "You look absolutely stunning as always." She stepped back slightly, before gesturing towards Marcelo.
"And, at very long last ... Brooke, this is Marcelo. Marcelo, Brooke." She hoped the two would hit it off well. Tension between two people so key in her life was not something she needed. Frankly, she had enough problems as it was.

Re: Library Garden
"Related to him?" Eva raised an eyebrow. This wouldn't be the first time someone had tried the "relative" trick to scam some of the Worthington money. "What do you mean?"

Re: Library Garden
Her cousin, not her blood cousin but cousin enough for her. She brought Ryan.
She looked adorable enough, fresh and young enough in the peach bandeau dress she wore with a simple black stole and matching pink peach heels. When she arrived she flashed her smile brightly, as if nothing had changed. Questions about her parents but she smiled, shook her head, and pretended she had nothing better to do. Oh, the pointed out the singleness but she didn't care.
That's what you're supposed to do when coming out of the word work. Smile. Pretend. She didn't think she'd be any good but Valeria was shocking herself. She clutched to a Roy Rogers as she quietly people watched. Though she did warn Ryan she'd be off in the Gardens for a while to get her breath and regain her composure before drifting to cameras and people she knew.
Re: Library Garden
For his part, Ryan carried in his hand a strawberry nojito and looked - if he thought so himself - quite stunning in his casually undone tuxedo.
"How's it feel, dipping ye old toe back into the social whirlpool?"

Library Garden 3
Parties were fun. Parties were full of drunk people staggering about their daily, insignificant lives, supposing that they were having so much fun and that they could distract themselves from the nastiness, brutishness and shortness of their lives.
Well.
At first the skinny guy looked almost pitiable, and then one could see the slow trickle of blood out of his nose and the crazy bloodshot look in his eyes.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the elite ... all you bright young things of the oppressing classes ..." He took a glass of champagne from a waiter's hand and bolted it down. "You came here to have a party. Well, be careful what you wish for."
Hopped up on a shocking variety and high dosage of stimulants, he'd stayed up for over a week solid. His power was near its very peak, at a level that demanded the respect he'd been denied in his life. He began using that hideous power, planting images, sensations and emotions into minds.
"Every single one of you has a scorpion inside you that obeys my will. If you so much as think nasty thoughts at me, the scorpion will sting you from the inside. Get it too mad, and it'll come out to say hi to Daddy. Through. You."
He laughed maniacally and started to walk towards the group where Brooke, Stephanie, Alexander and the others were.
Re: Library Garden 3
Hearing what he said though she visually cringed because ew bugs in her? This feathery blond isn't fond of that idea. The glass of sparkling cider in her hand, well it explodes from rapid expansion because ice fills more space than liquids.
Part of her wonders if now would be a good time to see if she has a icy form like one of her genetic donors. If nothing else at least she knows she can handle temperatures too cold for the bug.
Re: Library Garden 3
But she did notice the exploding glass.
"What... what did you do that for?"
She raised her hand to the side of her head, confused. Eva's conscious mind didn't realize it was under attack yet, but some instinct did, and kicked in her powers. The bench she was sitting on creaked and groaned as her weight increased along with her density.
She frowned hard.

Non-Alcoholic Library 2
He leaned on his cane and eyed the room. Well, time to start some confusion. Charlatan reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out an ashtray. He casually flicked it toward the floor. It hit with a soft clunk and managed to skid a bit away from Charlatan.
Once the ashtray stopped, it started hissing out thick, black smoke.
Re: Non-Alcoholic Library 2
The smoke threw her right off guard. Who expected a party to get crashed by robbers? Certainly not her. The youngest Avenger at the library is going to be pretty surprised.
"What's going on?"

Alcoholic Library
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Many of the guests looked around in confusion, some covering their ears as they heard what could only be described as laughter.
When wall behind the bar exploded, throwing glass and people about the area that finally got everyone's attention.
A monster not seen in New York for many years hovered into the room on his goblin glider as he looked around the room, smiling maniacally.
"All you parasites with more money than brains are a cancer on humanity. I'm here to operate." the Green Goblin said.
And with that, he tossed a pumpkin bomb toward the opposite end of the room, right at the feet of Joe Rogers.
Re: Alcoholic Library
"Roxanne, get down!" he said, trying to push his girlfriend out of the way of the explosion.
