It's The Eye of the Camera ((New Mutants))

Aiden notified the gals that Val was coming to help out with getting the base rid of Mojo-sent cameras. Then he drove off to New York to go pick up Valeria. He made sure to ask her what she wanted to eat. The least he could do for her help was cook her a good meal. He had feeling he would be more useful in the kitchen than in tracking down the cameras.

When he pulled into the garage, he had a blonde super-genius with him.

"Tah dah," he announced to no one in particular.

"And Ah'm gonna need to grab my laptop. Got just about all mah school stuff on their."

"My laptop and phone are hardened against, um... accidents." And had been since that little incident when she was using her father's phone shortly after her powers first manifested. "But I'll move them out anyways."

Valeria gave a familiair whistle to ask Zip to come along and join her outside. It would be much safer for him outside the bubble than inside the bubble. And she had to take a long unused zetta-drive from her old lab to make sure a program she hadn't interacted with in a long time was safe outside with her. If this EMP sweep didn't work, she was pretty sure nothing she had would.

About 20 minutes later she was ready, computer set up and back up programs for the house safely secured. Now she just had to wait for the others to join her when they were ready.

Caroline scurried where indicated. She hoped this would do the trick.

Her important items secured, Angel scooped up Cedric and joined Val and the others.

Aiden gathered up all his recordings and sensitive electronic gear. He puffed out a breath and headed back to where Valeria was working.

"Reportin' for duty, Cap'n Val." He would not salute, however. He was a ninja, not a pirate.

Sara waited with the others, holding a backpack stuffed with all her assorted electronic gear.

Valeria sat with her feet tucked under herself as she began to type on her computer, thumb gliding over the thumbpad.

She pauses, looking at the laptop and then the home before her. The blonde of the former home of Casa De Blonde scooted back just a little more and nodded. "Everything is off, the wiring I have might get knocked off line but I don't think we should really worry about that. It's just the wires that run the wave. If this doesn't work I might have to stick around longer."

"When will we know if it's worked?" Caroline asked.

"This is not where I say I hope it doesn't work, right?" He kind of wanted Valeria around longer. Though everyone might like it if the cameras were gone. Aiden gave a sheepish smile and shrugged. He was as ready as he could be at the moment.

Angel held on tight to Cedric. "Ah just wanna feel safe in mah own house again."

Sara drew a sheet of paper out of her backpack, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it at the back of Aiden's head.

"Nooooo, it's not."

She'd like Val to stay a while too, but she'd prefer to have her staying in their nice, surveillance-free home.

"It's... well." There's a slight smile, a look of guilt as she studies her laptop a moment longer. And then she quickly types in other things, letting fingers fly.

"Now that the pulse is over, we're doing a quick scan to find debris. Hopefully no one's really special stuff will come up."

Caroline listens and nods and peers as Val scans. "And... and no seeing anything means...?"

"Nothin' good, Ah'm thinkin'...." Angel said.

Aiden rubbed where he had been assaulted with a wad of paper.

"Something needs to stop listening to me when I'm not serious."

He shifted from foot to foot a little. He waited for Valeria's pronouncement on what exactly happened.

Sara fidgeted, subconsciously shifting her weight from the balls of her feet to her heels, and twisting the strap on her backpack in a wringing motion.

"... no. That's."

Her lips purse tightly.

"No. No... this. Physics suggest that."

There is a snarl, "Son of a bitch."

Mojo was going to die.

Caroline's not used to such language, but she nods. "He is." A pause. "Probably it's magic, then?"

"No good six-armed skank...."

"Val will figure it out," Aiden assured confidently. He had unwavering faith in his teammates, past and present. Also, he would rather focus on them rather than the people who had tortured him.

A wisp of steam rose from Sara's hands, and her eyes glowed slightly red. She gently set the backpack down, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, they were back to their normal blue.

"I have faith in Val. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't still take it out on Mojo's hide..."

"It's probably magic... or teleporting. Which is as damn good as magic. I mean we weren't being very subtle." She runs her fingers through her hair for a moment. Swearing was very uncommon with her.

Being wrong about things and being tricked and having her system hacked into brought out the worst in Valeria, so it seemed. "And I should have known, though, because of you, Sara. Your powers."

She sighed and looked at the set up. "So what I need to do is figure out where the cameras are being delivered, i think..."

"Hmmm..." Angel mused. "How're we gonna do that?"

"Dunno. Do we have any thing for tracing transdimensional signatures or anything? I mean, I sure don't, but..." she shrugs.
