She'll never live ANYTHING down

Erin finally has something resembling a break. So she is messing around on her lap top. Just seeing what she can find on the internet. It is because she is bored out of her mind. Somehow she ended up on an Avenger's fan site.

She keeps reading. For a few minutes she is just amused by everything she finds.

Now she is making more and more horrified sounds. Something is obviously hurting her brain and she should stop what she is doing and step away from the laptop. But it's sort of like a car crash. She knows she shouldn't look but she can't quite stop herself.


Until it gets really weird. "What the hell."

And she shuts the top of her laptop. Yeah. No. Can't read that again. It's a little too weird.

Jay had been trying to get out of his room more. He had help. Gentle, loving shoves were still shoves out of his room. He had been heading toward the kitchen via the longest way ever just to hit his daily quota of out time.

He passed by a room just to hear Erin's confused exclamation and the sound of a laptop shutting. So, Jay poked his head inside the doorway.

"Everything okay in here?"

"I think I just killed my brain."

She tugs at some of her hair looking utterly baffled for the moment. At least there hadn't been pictures. She would have been really, really creeped out if someone had drawn pictures.

"I.... shouldn't go poking around on the internet. Like ever."

Jay stepped more fully into the doorway. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and leaned against the door frame.

"Why are you huffing the internet?" That killed brains, right?

"I think there's a huge difference between poking and huffing."

She rubs the bridge of her nose. "I made a huge mistake."

Now she's sort of quoting Arrested Development. Something really is wrong.

Jay frowned slightly. "What did you do? Outside of not inhaling the internet."

"I found the Avengers fan sites." That should say it all.

"The stuff about Captain America and Mister Stark made me laugh. But then I found other things."

"Ahh." Jay understood it now. He tilted his head slightly, away from the door frame. Last thing he needed to do was smack his head on a stationary object.

"I avoid fan sites. Lots of them have things I'd rather not see about Mom. Something about you on there?"

"Yeah. Just a little creepy." She makes a face.

"I feel like I'll need therapy if I think about it too much. Don't they realize I'm practically jail bait in most states still? Then again... I don't want to consider even that part."

Jay chuckled. "The internet was made for creeps. They can be anonymous and share the creepiness. Don't pay it any mind unless they do something like send it directly to you."

He pushed off the frame with his shoulder. "How bad was it?"

"Noted," she says in a dry tone.

"Let's just say someone out there knows all about my newness with cafeteria food. Or they guessed really well and made it really creepy with weird implications about my power set."

"Naughtiness with the food court virgin?" He pressed his lips together to try to not smile. He did not succeed very well.

"Sounds like something the internet would do."

She starts to snicker. He was trying too hard.

"Big fascination with my love of hot dogs, apparently."

[lil_hulk]

"You and your need for 100% all American beef," he commented wryly. Then he snorted a laugh. He tried to look like he hadn't just done that.

"Hey, I don't discriminate. Pork and turkey are also good," Erin defends with an innocent look.

"You like the pork. I'll make sure Bruce updates your file with that." He would, too. Though Bruce probably wouldn't do it. Maybe he and Marcus could plant a Post-It. Which wouldn't get into the computer, but maybe they could hard copy file it like the 80's.

That gets her to pause. "Wait. They note that kind of stuff on my file? I sort of guessed I might have a file.... I know my Dad at least has a basic SHIELD file because of his job and everything."

She avoids talking about when she needed a bodyguard when she was really little. HYDRA had been a concern during one of her father's diplomatic assignments.

"SHIELD has files on everyone," Jay said without sounding the least bit enthused about it. "Just ask Sam."

He shrugged slightly. "Everyone on the team has a file. Where else would they put all my reprimands?"

"I'm pretty sure you're right. They'd have a file on me now anyways since you know, mutant Avenger. Something worth noting," Erin said calmly.

"I dunno." She shrugs. "Maybe Bruce keeps them in a box just for you."

"Keeps what in a box?" Bruce asked, as he was coming into the room.

"All my reprimands. Or naughty notes. Never know what you call them." Jay rubbed his chin like he was seriously considering it. He knew Sammy used gold stars, and she had told him he had more than most people...

"Do we all have a na-- note box?" She stopped herself from saying naughty box. That would have been wrong considering what started all of this.

"Everybody's got a file," Bruce said. "Even me. And yes, it includes any disciplinary notes, but other stuff too. As team leader, it's my job to maintain that kinda stuff, and then pass it up to Mister Stark when I think it's appropriate."

Jay tried to keep a forthcoming smirk off his face. "Good thing they don't print off fanfics and put them in the files, huh?"

"Jay!" Her face goes through several shades of red. Clearly that was a little embarrassing for her right now.

".....Ew much? I really don't want to see more than what I accidentally stumbled across."

Oh hell. She pauses then just looks like she wants to have ALL of the face palms.

"I... what?" Bruce asked, looking confused. He felt like he was missing something here.

Jay rubbed his mouth to hide his smirk from the food court virgin. He coughed into his hand to try to compose herself.

"Erin found some fanfic on the internet."

She will kill you with her brain Wingfoot.

"Did you have to tell him Jay? My brain is already hurt I don't want to keel over from embarrassment."

"Fanfic... about herself?" Bruce guessed, still feeling about two steps behind the conversation. Jay when amused tended to have that effect anyway.

"Best to let fearless leader know now. before it gets pent up and explodes, making a mess. Don't you think?" He tried to make his voice sound neutral. Even if he didn't feel very neutral.

"Jay. Please stop helping. I kind of want to forget that I can't do anything about what people put on the internet." She pinches the bridge of her nose "I was already freaked out. Now I'm just embarrassed."

"Well, better the fanfic than the fanart," Bruce said. "I've seen some of that. It gets a little creepy."

Jay put his hand beside his mouth to shield his lips from Bruce seeing. Though he spoke in a stage whisper that Bruce could hear.

"He should know. He draws some of that fanart. Be suspicious when he asks you to pose artistically."
