Seijin no Hi
Aiden was a lot less fidgety in his silk formal kimono than he was in regular suits. He liked the fact it was handmade to fit Aiden's 6'3" frame. His grandmother had spared no expense in having the colorful kimono made. The heavy silken wear felt right to the Mojoworlder. And it was not trying to choke him. He started to think he should wear one to all formal events.
He had attended the ceremony at the city hall and had made it to the ceremony at the temple his family went to for holidays. He wasn't sure where he was going next. There were events all over to attend. Though he was not going to get drunk again. His grandmother had drunk him under the table. It was a little embarrassing. Even if his grandma was a mysterious ninja clan leader.
Currently, Aiden was looking for either his family or Angel after getting pulled aside for a string of photos with other young Japanese ladies in their finest. The gaijin-looking guy celebrating seemed to be a big draw.

She approached Aiden with a shy, demure smile, a mad glint of hope in her eyes.
Using her powers, she gently nudged girls this way and that until she was directly behind him.
Hikaru tapped him on the shoulder. "May I have the honour of having my photograph taken with you?"
no subject
"Hikaru-san! I didn't know you were from this part of Japan." He did the slightly awkward motions of should he hug, handshake, or what. He settled on the very Japanese bow. "You look very pretty. I'd be glad to take a picture with you."

She looked down and concentrated for a moment. A light breeze whipped around her, lifting the scent of her perfume up from her. It was a special perfume, one which was supposed to contain pheromones which would make any man wild about her.
She prayed that it would make Aiden wild about her.
"There's a lot about me you don't know, Aiden-san," she said demurely. "Maybe if we had dinner together one day, you could learn more about me and I could get to know you better as well."
no subject
"We can do that sometime," he agreed. Then his brow furrowed. "Though it'll have to be back in the States. I gotta head back soon since Angel's classes start."

More importantly, perhaps, was enjoying the fact that Japan seemed to be, at least in certain circles, far kinder to mutants than America. Or maybe that was just the anime fans and furries. It was hard to say. But she did think she still looked rather good in the kimono Aiden had gotten her for their first White Day. She'd even gotten a few picture requests, including a couple from someone who insisted she was from something--her Japanese was getting better but still not perfect--she thought was called Super Excellent Space Cat Pirates.
Now... where had that boy gotten to...?

"There she is! Hey, Angel!" The tall blond waved excitedly to his fiancée. "Over here!"
no subject
"There you are, Sugah," she said. "Thought you done got away from me for a minute."
no subject
That would be nice.
She caught herself, though, and her face brightened considerably. She could be nice to the girl. After all, the girl was only temporary. Hikaru was the one who was going to stay.
"That is a very beautiful kimono, Angel-san," Hikaru complimented the other girl.

He stepped up and gave Angel a kiss on her cheek. "Lots of people want a picture with me today." He did not sound baffled by that as he would have Stateside. "And I ran into Hikaru-san! You remember her. Would you mind taking a picture for her? She doesn't have anyone to help her out."
no subject
"Sure," she said. "Reckon Ah can do that."

And then she smiled at Angel.

"Cheeeeeeeeeese."

Though one ninja did fall to a sudden boot to the head. His katana skittered across the ground.
A couple more ninja found themselves walking into a sudden strong wind that wasn't there a moment ago. They struggled against the wind to get at Aiden.
While the last two managed to slip past the sudden defenses and swipe at the Mojoworlder. They thought their swords could slice through that flimsy shield of light. Instead, both blades bounced off the hard light. Though the force of simultaneous blows did make the shield flicker.

"No talking, just fighting!" He launched himself at his two closest attackers. His hand sickles striking out to get them to back up a step or two.

Maybe after they'd saved Aiden.

The final two fighting Aiden had underestimated the gaijin fighting prowess. Between being distracted by Angel's flurry of blows and Aiden's skill with his weapons, both went down into groaning, pained messes.

"Only five?" He still had glowing kama in hand just in case.
no subject
"Probably not..." she said, glancing around.

If someone did attack...she'd attack back.

Not that people could hear them anyway over the screaming and panic of the crowd fleeing away from the fight. The five ninja unleashed blasts of blazing fire, freezing ice, crackling lightning, sizzling acid, and explosive sonic energy.

Aiden covered his head with his arms and put light shields up again instead of weapons. He dodged toward Angel even though she could take care of herself. But he had to try to make sure her kimono and very soft fuzz were not singed.
