Saying hello again [Open!]

Erin had spent the next day or so trying to smooth things over with her parents.It was very distressing trying to get them to just listen. She did though remember what Captain Marvel had said to her.

And if she could join the Avengers like he had offered things might just be okay. She could convince her parents that it wouldn't hurt them. That would be okay.

And maybe she'd have fun somehow. She didn't think she would but people got into this for worse reasons, right? And it was okay anyways because she did like the idea of helping people.

She takes a deep breath and lets it out and presses the door bell.

Since Jarvis was busy in the kitchen whipping up a Hulk-sized meal, Jay went to the front door. He stooped a bit so he could peer through the door. He grabbed the handle with his forefinger and thumb to open it. Since he was subbing for Jarvis, he stuck out his pinkie.

"Yeeees?" He asked in his deep rumble as the door opened.

"Ummm." Oh my. He sure does eat his Wheaties.

She pauses for a moment then offers a slight smile. "Hi. Captain Marvel said I should stop in."

That makes her feel like a huge dork saying that but what else could she say?

Jay loomed over the young lady at the door. Not that he was weaving anything. His brow furrowed.

"Cap...? Oh, Brucie baby did, huh? C'mon in." He stepped back to allow her through the door.

"'Brucie'?" She blinked at the nick-name.

Was she going to a mad house? Well, it couldn't be worse than some of her misadventures in the dorm halls.

"Thanks." She steps around him and inside.

"Yep. That's him," Jay confirmed as he closed the door solidly behind her. She was trapped! This was where he would laugh maniacally if he were evil. As he was a good guy, he was trying to place where he saw her.

He snapped his fingers, which sounded like a gunshot. "I know you. You're the Food Court virgin."

Oh god did he have to put it like that?

"Do you have to say that so loudly?" Her cheeks are a little red from how he said that.

"That's not my loudest. Let me show you." He raised his hands to cup around his mouth.

Oh God. Her eyes go really wide and she waves her hands.

"No, no. That's okay. Really.... you don't have to."

He took a deep breath. And then whispered...

"You sure?"

He squinted suspiciously.

Is he messing with her? She squints up at him looking suspicious. Also much shorter than him. Mostly she expects shenanigans.

"Yes, very sure."

"Okay," he relented as he dropped his hands. His stomach rumbled, reminding him it was cavernously empty.

"I guess we should track down Bruce. Unless you're hungry?"

"I ate earlier," she says not wanting to ask for anything.

"You sure? Jarvis has a better selection than the Foood Cooourt." He grinned and batted his eyelashes.

He put his hands up to his mouth. Sure they had intercoms and communicators, but he liked to be loud. "BRUUUUUUUCE! You gotta girl here looking for you!"

He gets her to blush over that. Then he calls that out and...... damn it. Madhouse.

At least he's cute.

Bruce's head snapped up from the report he was writing at the sound of the bellow. Well then. He stood, and activated the change into his costume. If it was Sara, Bruce was reasonably sure Jay would have mentioned that.

He headed out. "Ah! Erin! Didn't expect to see you so soon."

"Tah dah!" Jay was proud of his lung prowess when he was green. He sniffled and scratched his belly.

"If you don't need me, I'm gonna go eat everything Jarvis is making in the kitchen."

Erin looks a bit shell shocked when that happens. Jay as his big green self was a bit of a surprise for the mutant.

But he leaves and she blinks. "Um. Yeah. I kind of had to move faster than I would have normally."

Bruce resisted the urge to laugh at Jay's antics. Best face forward and all.

"More problems with the parents?"

"Just.... signs of issues that could come up. In my family it pays to be on your guard when it comes to things," she confesses with a hint of regret.

"This is something I'd choose on my own. I like helping people."

He nodded thoughtfully. "That's good," he said. "The helping people thing. The Avengers can certainly help you do that. It's actually in the by-lines."

Bruce went on. "The Wasp actually instituted the modification to our charter as a way to get around some restrictions the government was placing on our line-up... but we have the ability to take in Avengers-in-training, if we want to. It's a way to help new heroes get up to speed and get the training they need."

"So... Like the fact I still need help with my control. You guys could help me with that?" She had issues with finer control still. "It's.... an issue. Since I've had to teach myself."

That gets a slight smirk from her. "Smart lady."

"Oh yeah," Bruce agreed. "We've got plenty of practice facilities we can use. And some great veterans around too."

He smiled. "Definitely."

"Cool." She bites her lower lip slightly. "Because there's some other stuff too.... But I was never sure how to test it. Because you know, mostly self-trained."

She means her denser than normal tissues. She won't get into that she's largely water-dependent too because she literally needs it.

"Oh yeah?" Bruce asked. "Like what?"

"My body is adapted for being deep under the water, pretty much. Tougher and denser skin. Like.... the equvilent of being a third Atlantean is my best guess?" She shrugs slightly.

"I know it's not much. Just another add on to me being an aquakinetic, I think."

"Huh," Bruce said. "Interesting. But we can definitely help get all that figured out, figure you your limits, and get you trained up to world-saver."

"Well.... It's still a little weird."

She hadn't expected world-saver to get tacked onto that. And a slightly nervous look briefly passes over her features.

"Well, we can work up to that. Save it for your second week."

"Great, week one rescuing people. Next week..... fun times. I see how it is," she jokes.

"And in week three, we'll move on to dealing with cosmic menaces who want to wipe out half the life in the universe or eat the Earth or something like that."

She snaps her fingers.

"So right. Like.... Skrulls or Glactus. It all makes sense," she says with a nod.

"Got it," Bruce agreed. "So it's a very comprehensive program."

She shakes off the amusement for the moment.

"So. Aside from showing up.... is there anything you need from me?"

"Mostly just making sure we have a way to contact you when we need you, or when you need us," Bruce said. "We can get you set up with a comm-card."

"Well that's easy enough. I usually have my cell phone on me. The comm cards.... are they um. Durable?"

"Very," Bruce told her. "Some people *cough*Jay*cough* are a little rough on the equipment."

"And I'm kind of a... klutz. With small things. It's why I kind of did everything I could to protect it." And yes she has it in an industrial strength cell phone case. It's also very shiny because why not?

Bruce chuckled. "Well, don't worry. This thing's made of... well, I dunno what it's made of. But it's good."
