Dancing Queens
Enough time had passed since Felicity and Nika's last date. This time, she was hoping on nothing villainous happening when she dragged Nika out of the office for a night of dancing.
Maybe dancing will provide all of the action that we need tonight and no villains will surprise us.
Yeah. Right.
She shook her head and smoothed down the skirt of her obnoxiously sparkly dress. She couldn't help it, though. The cat in Felicity Thompson liked a little sparkle. She reached up and adjusted an earring.
Tucking her clutch - filled with some requisite weaponry - under her arm, Felicity strode out of her lab and towards Nika's office. She didn't bother knocking on the door, though. What would Nika be doing in there anyway? Working? Napping? Nothing else.
She slunk into the room and posed in the doorway, a smile curving her lacquered lips upwards. "Well, well. Looks like someone needs a break."

There had to be some cocktail dress she could use somewhere in here. "Just some bruises from training hard. It shouldn't hold me back."
She hoped. Nika did throw herself hard into training. She knew her teacher sent reports to her mother. Also, everything she was learning was to make her stronger than she had been before being kidnapped.
"I'd let you kiss it, but that might not get us out dancing," she commented as she found a couple black dresses. She pulled them off the bar and then shoved them back. She needed bruise coverage. She turned to the opposite side of the closet and dug through her small smattering of non-business wear.

The previous team...tiny tech things (these, Felicity separated from the rest of the papers and slid them into her clutch for further inspection), and...was that her perky bottom?
It was!
Felicity grinned.
"Plus, their cocktails are pretty much to die for."

Nika pulled her clothes on as quickly as possible. "Well, I've never been there, so this will be an adventure."

She leaned back in the chair and twirled a lock of light blonde hair. "I never do repeats on dates. There's nothing worse than a place with someone else's romantic history." She had, of course, been to Venus' Pleasure Garden in San Francisco before. That was a hell of a place.
"You're lucky I'm actually courting you." The last time she'd liked a girl, they'd spent a weekend in bed, switching between ordering room service and...well.

She blinked at Felicity sitting in her chair behind her desk. Something about letting a known thief sit there sent up warning bells, but Nika ignored them.
"How so?" She strode over to her desk to open a bottom drawer to grab a few things to fix her hair.

"I've never really had one. A relationship, I mean. I've had a fling or two. But with my ambitions, it seemed hard to find time and someone to have a relationship with. And despite all this flirting, I'm... possibly more cautious than I'm letting on." She paused and shrugged. Now was possibly not the time to get into how scared she would be if she put her heart on the line.
"You're also one of my employees, and I can't afford to lose y-another brilliant tech person."
no subject
"Besides, that's also why I'm trying to take it slow. Don't wanna get all scary-predator on you."
no subject
She headed toward the small bathroom off her office. She couldn't do anything ornate or even stylish. She was never going to be a model like her mother, so pulling her hair back seemed the most feasible option.
"Scary-predator, huh? Light-bending heat-seeking killer who can be fooled by basic mud?"
no subject
"Hey. I'm not fooled by mud. Wrestle in it with me, sometime, and you'll see."
no subject
"I went to all-girl private schools in Europe and here in New York. I was focused on studying subjects more than my classmates. I have a family business to inherit. I need to be the best."
She shrugged as she walked back to her desk.
"I'll have a mud pit for the next training session. We'll probably have to clear out if Fin and the new recruit end up in it."
no subject
Teachers who had also been friends with her parents. She'd had no choice but to work hard to get good grades, really.
"Although, come on. All-girls schools? You're telling me you never experimented with your...bosom buddies?"
no subject
"There were some attractive girls there. Daughters of politicians and big business CEOs. Pretty but personalities of poster board." She wobbled a bit at the angle she had to grab her bag. She tried to steady herself on impulse by grabbing Felicity's thigh.

"Erogenous zone on your outer thigh, so noted." She gave Felicity's leg a light squeeze before straightening up to put her bag on.
"Nice musculature though."
no subject
Or lusted after.
Her body was part of why Felicity wasn't prone to over-accessorizing her outfits. Why not show off her greatest asset instead?
"I've already got a Town Car waiting downstairs." Because she prepares for everything, this one.

She currently wouldn't admit Felicity's body had caught her attention. Not that she would have done anything about it. Though the blonde had made Nika not dismiss the thought as readily as before.
"Hopefully not one of embassy ones. I flattened one and they're watching me like a hawk." It was completely not her fault someone dropped a taxi on the last one.

She walked over to the door of the office and held it open for Nika. "Nooo. Private service. They're reliable, and good at keeping secrets. I use them all for all of my transportation needs."
no subject
The Symkarian went out the opened door and waited for Felicity to join her in the hallway. She wondered a little if they looked totally mismatched. Which again made her wonder what the cat burgler saw in her for not the first time. Though she tried to dismiss the HYDRA hardened doubts out.
"So are we a secret that needs to be kept?"
no subject
"You tell me. I mean, you're the boss woman. Me, I'm fine with people knowing that we're seeing each other in a not-entirely-professional way. But if that makes you nervous, then I can keep the you-and-I stuff out of the work place." She was nothing if not a mostly consummate professional.

She waited for Felicity to lead the way to the car before she would fall into step beside her. "I don't kn-ugh. I'm not sure. Mother can't really say a thing because she married her field team leader, but I'm not sure what the right steps are. Outside of having Lisa handle your reviews and non-field issues. Because I'd be biased." Nika's elder sister had had an odd knowing sort of look on her face when Nika told her about. It gave the Symkarian the heebie jeebies how calm and rational Lisa had been about it. Encouraging even.

Once outside, Nika would notice a black Town Car waiting for them, the driver standing by the rear door. An insignia on the door proclaimed the car to be one of Happy's Hackneys. Owned by a Happy Hogan, it was one of the city's finest private town car services.
Felicity slid inside gracefully. "Well, Lisa handling all of that does make sense." She frowned lightly. "Look, if us being a thing is going to be a professional issue, though, there are two ways we can play this. I could leave the Wild Pack," which would leave Nika without a tech person again, "or we could...not pursue this any further." There was no sarcasm in Felicity's voice, no taunting. She was being straightforward and honest. "All of that is up to you, Nika. I'm fine playing it however you want to."
no subject
She got in after Felicity and settled down. Only to have her smile disappear into a soft frown. "Just like... no. It's not a problem. I'll deal with any problems when they arise. Right now, we're going out. And I like that."

Nika glanced over with a slight smirk. "She won't be a threat to your tech whiz job."
