Tony didn't spend an overly large amount of time at the Avenger's mansion these days. Not if he could help it. This was a special occasion, though. Today, he was going to introduce the kid to their new teacher. He suspected that many of them knew of her already, but proper introductions were only polite. Besides, he wanted to make sure They all knew to give her the proper respect. Anyone who gave her issues would answer to him and his primary methods of discipline were pay cuts and firing... nobody wanted that.

He waited with Kitty in the main living room at the mansion and waited for the kids to gather.

Susan came in from the gym, still her workout clothes. She smiled to Tony and gave Kitty a nod before taking a seat.

Kitty watched as the kids filed in. They all looked like good kids, good well-adjusted kids. The nerves she was feeling earlier still had not subsided, but she kept her face neutral. Cheerful even. "Hello." She nodded at the kids, smiling back.

Jay strolled into the living room wearing a pair of beat up jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt that said 'My Heroes Have Always Killed Cowboys' below a graphic of a war party. His starting to get long hair was pulled back. Mostly because it stopped the furry creature stitting on his shoulder from grabbing it for a swing.

"Runnin' late," he said by way of explanation. "What's goin' on?"

He might have got the message to show up but not the reasons way. He glanced over the random X-Person in the living room.

The speech he had in mind for this moment was completely derailed when Jay wandered in. Tony blinked and stared at the... thing... on his shoulder. This was either a sign he needed to be here at the mansion more or a sign that Kitty taking this job was right on time.

"Jay..." He shook his head. "Never mind."

He turned to gesture to Kitty. "Some of you may recognize Mrs. Pryde-Wisdom from The Avengers' friendly, if somewhat competitive and adversarial, interactions with the X-Men. She's graciously agreed to join the staff here as another instructor and advisor."

...Bruce wondered if it was too late to move in with Sara and pretend to be a mutant.

"Good to have you with us, ma'am."

"Okay then...." She wasn't sure what that meant. Of course Erin here is the new kid. She's getting used to the possibility of being 'outed' as a mutant at her school.

Sammy appeared in a seat. Not only was this interesting to her personally, but Dad would probably want a report.

"Glad to you with us, Mrs. Pryde-Wisdom." Sarah said with a smile.

Vincent, partially disheveled in a lab-coat, staggered into the room, having pulled an all-nighter in the Mansion's lab. He's managed to mostly stop drinking, but he's been burning the candle at both ends otherwise.

"Good..." He glances at the clock "..morning? Yes, morning. Good morning Mrs Pryde-Wisdom." Vincent recognizes her face from his studies of the Avengers database. He blinks at the gathering. "What's going on?"

"Welcome to the crazy," Susan said to Kitty, a slight smirk on her face.

She smiled at Tony's apropos description. Quite, quite adversarial. "Or SHIELD? I've been working with them for the last few years. And please feel free to call me Kitty." She glanced at the young man, Vincent, who joined them. "Good morning. Just an interroga...er, I mean a meeting and introduction. You haven't missed anything." She clasped her hands in front of her. "Yeah, me and crazy know each other very well."

Tony gave Vincent a look. That was not only not the impression he'd wanted to make on Kitty, but it was also fairly unprofessional behavior for a scientist. They were going to have to talk about this later. Nobody represented him or the Avengers like that.

He turned his attention back to the rest of the group. "Does anyone have any questions up front for Ms. Pryde-Wisdom or myself about this? I'll still be around if I'm needed for advice or otherwise, but she'll likely be more readily available."

"Hi. I'm Erin. Resident new kid. I promise my issues won't become yours. I'm good at that bit." She flashes a very friendly smile deciding to not joke around about good PR. That guy in the lab coat kind of kills her ability to joke.

"Just so Ms. Pryde-Wisdom understands." Jay pointed with his chin toward Vincent. "He's adopted."

"Are you still working with SHIELD and the X-Men while you're instructing here?" Sammy asked. Not that she had any objection, she just liked to know things. It was in the blood.

For her part, Roxie silently slid into the room. She was late. There was a quickly-healing gash on her left bicep, and her spiked mace hung limply off of her belt. She nodded a greeting towards everyone and took a seat next to Nicky, who was also silently listening to the proceedings.

Bruce quirked a slightly confused eyebrow at the sight of Roxie's injuries, and mentally wondered just how awkward things would be, between her and Vincent and if it would blow up in all their faces.

"Nothing just yet," he said.

"I believe the only question may be from Miss Fury then," Nicky replied. "I have none at this time, myself."

"No questions from me," Sarah said.

"I'm good," Susan said.

Vincent was about to have some retort to Jay's comment... and then Roxanne showed up. She's hurt. She's hurt and he can't do anything for her.

He looks positively like he wants to shrivel up in a corner.

"Nothing from me..." He says quietly in Kitty's direction.

She regarded Ms. Fury. "On an as-needed basis for SHIELD. I haven't been with the X-Men for over a decade. I'll be here three days a week. Two of those days for counseling, training, lessons, for whatever you guys need, and the third day by appointment. I will also be working at Mr. Stark's R&D."

She smiled reassuringly at Erin. "You don't have to worry about that. I can help you with what you are going through."

Kitty was watching the way the kids interacted with each other, how they arranged themselves, the looks that were going on between them.

"Adopted? I don't see why his parentage would be of any matter here." Tony didn't seem too happy, but Vincent's appearance wasn't one she was unfamiliar with. She wasn't here for just the good things, she was here for everything, warts and all.

God help him, he was right in the middle of some sort of high school drama or something. It was a good thing Kitty was here, otherwise he'd be applying extra training sessions and pay cuts to the problem.

"I expect you'll all be on your best behavior and represent me and the Avengers with some amount of dignity. If you can't do that, I suggest you learn to fake it well."

"Well, I'm doomed," Jay commented to no one in particular. He got a small tug on his ear from Boo. He glanced around and then held out his arm a bit for the small creature to run down and land on SuuuuUUUUUuuusan's lap.

"I'm Jay, the resident Hulk. That's Boo, a miniature giant space hamster. Mostly harmless but has taken down an Asgardian before." The one being meek and quiet at the moment.

"Not this Asgardian," Nicky replied with a grin. "Niklas Thorson of Asgard, Ms. Pryde. Nicky Blake here on Earth. It's a pleasure."
