In the desert outside of Sedona, Arizona a large, metallic structure appeared after an evening of strange lights swooping and whirling around in the skies. A couple locals went into the one story structure to check it out. Their truck was still sitting outside of the strange building a day later. The police were called in. The local sheriff didn't trust the federal government, but he knew superheroes could probably handle whatever this thing was.

He put in a call to the Future Foundation. Then he sat back and waited. Also, he kept an eye on making sure no one else did something dumb like go into that thing like Larry and Daryl.

"Hold on. Re-adjusting the interface on my gauntlets. I can start scanning for another energy source right... now." The gauntlet takes on a bright orange glow.

"I'm picking up different wave lengths. Some of them don't appear very strong.... Re-calibrating again."

They should be able to find something.

"Hold on," Ryan said, stepping back. The glow that encased his hands surrounded his own body, and then spread out to cover the wall in front of them. If there were any hidden seams, any little cracks that they could use, the light would pool into that area, illuminating in, and giving it a way in.

Except he couldn't see anything of the sort.

He frowned.

"That's...not good."

"Crap. They do not look encouraged." Jacob wasn't either, to be honest. He didn't understand half of what Alexa and Griffin were saying and if technobabble was their key to getting out, Remi and Ryan were... not the guys for the job, really.

"Keep trying. I have a small arc reactor we might be able to somehow rig to override the power source once we figure out what and where it is." She looked around again. Maybe she could construct some sort of protective gear...

Mary was, in her own way, actually rather intelligent. She knew her way around just about any kind of engine, and had a whole heap of biology. But Griff and Alexa were the real eggheads and she was out of her depth here.

She resumed her Skrull form. "There has to be a way out. All death traps have a way out. It's villain cliche number two, right after the monologue."
